Because VW is a waaaaay larger company than Honda or Nissan and can afford to dump tons of money into their smaller companies.

People on here act like Audi has been some juggernaut forever but they really only starting making a mark within the past 6-8 years. Before, they were on that Acura, Infiniti level of importance. VW started getting their shyt together around the middle 2000's and really started making waves.

And I don't know what Audis guys on here are driving when talking about driving experience. Maybe the S and RS models but other than that, they drive just like any other FWD luxury car. The A5 2.0T is yawn inducing. Now interiors are a different story although the new Lexuses are great as well.

:ohhh:

Funny you say that, Audit really started to take off back in the early 00's when VW was pumping out crazy numbers on their MKIV Golf platform, that was the peak of parts sharing and all that, MB even took an L w/ the Chrysler merger and the shyt cars that they made back then as well.

Audi's always been a brand with its own models though (albeit owned by VW, even back in the early 90's there was Porsche parts on Audi's and VW's :lawd:), dating back to the 80's, but if you Audi money back in the 80's, you were really doing something. But they were always driven by technology. Quattro from their racing background really separated them. That's what it'll take for Lexus to come through.

And I will agree, I love my 2.0T in my GTI, but an A5 is far too heavy of a car for that engine. And I would say that the 1st and 2nd Gen IS is one of my favorite cars, along w/ the 1st and 2nd Gen GS. Lexus is known for reliability, quiet and resale, that's their place until they can prove otherwise.

What do you mean by come through? Lexus has been one of the top selling if not the top selling luxury brand for almost 20 years now.

Meaning to be mentioned in the likes of the Germans for driving performance. They sell, and they're great at it, I'll give them that. But in the same that a Camry is an appliance car, Lexus is the appliance car of the luxury world. There's nothing wrong w/ that at all, I'd love to get my hands on a used LS430.

No they didn't. You can drive a Bentley and find similar switches that you would find in Golf, A6, or Gallardo.

Similar? Or the same. I'm not talking about generic parts like nuts, bolts, wires, fuses, and relays.

Same. I'm talking about key fobs and switches in the actual interior. The Flying Spur uses the same sunroof knob youd find in a base Jetta. :dahellstunna:

They've done a good job of making it seem like the cars don't share platforms but you know a VW car when you sit in it. That's not necessarily a bad thing but they do share parts.

I will say this positive thing about the Lexus, I like the dead pedal plate. Looks balls.

everyone is having an engaging discussion about it, because Lexus has seriously caught up...

even BMW homers have admitted that Lexus best the BMW in certain areas

but then there's people like you, who have probably never even driven either car and just talk out your ass.

I never said I own mad nice cars, I've test driven a few in the Luxury sedan/coupe class under $70K and I'm giving my opinion. What have you given? You're like an old man in a rocker...

Hope in the Lexus GS or the new 2014 IS 350 and I bet you won't call it a Toyota or chrylser again. Do you even know what Luxury is?

You must be new.

Check out the past threads in the "show room" catergory and then try to say I don't know what I'm talking about. Check my history on clublexus and audizine and come back and tell me idk what I'm talking about.

I drive cars for a living son.

I'll let it slide this time but remember...

2013 Lexus GS 350 > 2013 BMW 528i/Audi A6/MB E-350

The only thing the Lexus doesn't have the upper hand in is exterior design and thats only against the bimmer. Not a knock on the GS though, because that car still looks amazing. Besides, its been mentioned before but the Lexus has a big edge in durability and its reliable af. your a fool if you still aren't buying into this lexus hype

I would say I prefer the newer MB E-350 design over Lexus...I want to see the Lexus drop the IS/GS coupe though, cuz the MB E-coupe is a beautiful car.
