I think the revisionist history is the idea that Wayne was always some superstar. I actually made a thread about how shocking his run was in 2008 when you look at his career prior. If you told people the summer of 2003 Wayne 5 years from now was gonna be the biggest rapper in the game they would laugh at you.
I agree with this completely
before the Carter and the mixtape series, I had him legit in the same category as Bow Wow, Romeo, just the street version of them.

the only other rapper who's rise to superstardom is more shocking to me is Drake's

Y’all gotta telling these lies. Everyone wasn’t doing platinum and up. Hot boys never even went platinum
Juvie went MULTI platinum and BG went plat.

This is the late 90's, sales were exploding.

Wayne going plat did not mean that he was seen as the next Hip-Hop GOAT.

Cats were going plat left and right.

So Juvey also benefitted and was one of those dudes going platinum at the time because everyone else was 😅

LOL stop. 400 Degrees went 4x platinum, not just platinum. Youre not going 4x platinum because everybody else sold 1 million lol, thats not how it works. He was an exceptional artist, Wayne wasnt.

He was ten years older than Wayne.

Wayne is 1 million times the artist he is now. So who cares. Juvey had one hit album. Wayne had several lol.

LOL youre so pathetic. Initially tried to refute the argument at hand, couldn't; so now its "Lil Wayne is 1 million times the artists now" and "who cares" nikka go to your room.

And Juvie being 10 years older than Wayne has NOTHING to with it, and you know that.

False.

Juve had 400 Degreez, G Code, Project English, and Juve The Great. Out of the four, all of the. Except one went platinum or better. Juvenile carried CMR. When Wayne flopped with 500 Degreez, Juve came back and dropped Juve The Great. That album was bigger than the Carter. "Slow Motion" was one of the biggest songs CMR dropped and easily bigger than anything Wayne had or would have until he dropped "Lollipop".
