The Booth is crazy. Just because you didn't hear anyone bumping those albums or you personally didn't see or feel the hype means absolutely nothing considering millions of people exist besides you and you likely don't even connect with the smallest fraction of a fraction of the millions upon millions. It's like going to sleep and think the rest of the world stopped when you closed your eyes.

Carter IV was anticipated. Did it have the hype of C3, no, but it was a highly anticipated album with huge singles and sold off the momentum of Wayne being newly free from jail and the fact that it was another installment of The Carter. That's not even mentioning the speculated disses and everything surrounding that album.

MCHG had a big commercial during the NBA Finals. It was the first Jay Z album in nearly four years and yes that album had songs that people were actually bumping. Once again, The Booth is put of touch and assumes the world collectively feels the same way. The Booth hated MCHG before they heard one song.

If you ever needed more proof that sales don't equal quality, look at how awful the top 3 albums are

Yeah I don’t believe those Magna Carta sales. Nobody was bumping that shyt. And Jay has a history of using smoke and mirrors to make himself look more popular than he really is

It was like a t mobile deal or something

He got a lot of clones too, he got a Rakim-esque influence on the game.

However, he's still a sucka with a horrid catalogue of music. I call him the black Eminem in that regard.

C5 did 500k first week.

C4 numbers make sense plus it had like 5 MAJOR hit singles.

This makes it even more sad that he isn't valued like Em and Jay in this current day.

Drugs and bad business man...
:dahell:

Wayne is 10 to 12 years younger than both.

And he gets more respect than Eminem.

Wayne is way more left field than Em and Jay....that's why people side eye Wayne.

He made autotune popular....and all the weirder aspects of hip hop. But at the end of the day everybody knows he can rap along side every other top artist.

Don't let The Coli fool you lol

He's not as revered as Em and Jay bruh. Stop.

Wayne does porn star awards and pops up at Damian Lillard AS Saturday night rap performances to little fan fare.

Em does the Oscars.

Im not arguing Wayne popularity, and I know you a hardcore stan of his. And hell I live in NOLA so I know Wayne impact. Dude simply isn't as revered or as the aura that Em and Jay have. Dude my dad is a cop and was working a detail and called me one day saying "why am I doing a detail for a rap show and it's for Lil Wayne at this hole in the wall hotel?" You think Em or Jay would ever do performances at hotels anymore? This wasn't Wayne being "left field". This is what Wayne has been deduced to in a way.

Dude is still popular. I still got mad admiration and respect for him. He can still sell and create buzz and do arenas. But don't let your standom get in the way of the fact he doesn't create a buzz or event like Em and Jay do. He just doesn't. He SHOULD be able to after his crazy run, but he doesn't. That's not an opinion, it's a clear fact.

My feelings are not hurt but I don't really care about where they performing all of that stuff I'm talking about from a rapping perspective and what's going to matter 20 years from now.

Wayne has the sales that hits the quality bodies of work and wrapping ability just as good as everyone you mentioned so I don't know what where he performs and gets paid from has to do with anything lol

But again you are white and your dad is a cop so I don't even know why I'm having this conversation with you in the first place LOL
