Btw for all the love nas gets, gza on liquid swords can go lyrically bar for bar with any nas album.

Facts.

I boughtbthis on tape, cd twice and vinyl.

Im happy its finally platinum cause it deserves it

Also. Swordsman IS labeled as Unexplained on the vinyl so i think unexplained the the true name ot track 11.

One of rzas darkest beats with hardest bars by gza in wu history. My fav song nowadays but growing up shadowboxin was my fav. Dont sleep on investigative reports either. The ugod hook is so dope with the news reports

Me too. :dwillhuh:

There is a promo version of gza liquid swords with this song on it supposedly

Apparently, some songs were different than the final album version. I know the promo exist because I was bidding for it on eBay and lost.

homie at work put this on not knowing it was 21 years today. Shadowboxin and Swordsman :whew:

Liquid Swords is one of the goat Wu songs. Heads and hip hop casuals love that song. I've seen that shyt light up a club with mostly females (and it's not like women don't listen to Wu, but you get what I mean). It's really no surprise Jazmine Sullivan ended up sampling the shyt.

My minor, minor gripe with the song "Liquid Swords" is that that beautiful-ass intro was too short on the album version. Wish it looped at least one more time like in this video :mjcry:

That version is a 1995 remix using the acapella found on the 95 single vinyl as the basis, most likely produced by Groove Merchantz (Godfather Don & V.I.C.) and played on radio by Stretch & Bobbito.

On the vinyl acapella, you can hear the original track, the RZA remix of Labels, underneath throughout the whole track. When you listen to this "demo" version, you hear the original beat bleeding through, especially around :50 when the piano drops out. So it was made later off a released & available acapella & not original masters/demo versions.

It's not a demo & it's not RZA produced. The version in that video was recorded off the Stretch & Bobbito show & later found its way around the internet on a DJ Swarm compilation. You can hear it start off the full 9/15 show at the Dirty Waters link. They also played it on the 9/28 show.

Tough question, but how would y'all rank every song on Liquid Swords best to worst?

Imo:
Shadowboxin'
Cold World
Duel of the Iron Mic
Living in the World Today
4th Chamber
Liquid Swords
Swordsman
Gold
BIBLE
Labels
Investigative Reports
I Gotcha Back
Hell's Wind Staff / Killah Hills 10304

It hurts having to put some songs so low:mjcry:

Hmm
