That cover of "Written All Over Your Face" from "Zo! & Tigallo Love the '80s" fukking GOES.

The transition at the end into "Come Inside" still got me mad as shyt that the 90s album never came out.

With Foreign Exchange and Phonte other singing features, dude is also one of my favorite singers ever

I remember my boy talking about how wack he DJed a party for CIAA. Too much “wheat Tim” music that didn’t allow for the women to dance. Probably the best DJ I’ve heard him and others say is DJ Jazzy Jeff. Dude understands region differences and energy.

Seen Jeff live a couple of times, he did MSU's homecoming one year too and I was there for that, Def the real deal.

When you egotrip, you just lose your luggage

:sadcam:

And man the irony of that song as everybody asks about 9th…. It’s the one song on Minstrel show not done by 9th. Khrysis did it.

9th is a legend not taking anything from him but Khrysis may be just as nice. Some people’s favorite LB songs that they think are 9th are actually Khyrisis

:dead: Yeesh. That's where I'm at, if you do not know how to switch it up, then you shouldn't be in this whole big headed lane. Listen to The Get Back and Chitin Circuit 1.5, the shyt is like night and day compared to the tracks that were under 9th umbrella.

Don't get me wrong, I love a good boom bap. Hell, 9th and em influenced me easily for my musical passion, but I just don't get this lovefest over a dude that makes the most basic beats on FL Studios, still uses the same bounce and bap movements, and can't get out of an era that Madlib, Just, and countless other producers left.

I'm just saying. I wouldn't be surprised if 9th ended up becoming the next Pete Rock. Meaning a hating ass weirdo that's stuck in his underground bunk surrounded by warped old ass recrods and more greys than a elder koala.

You sound crazy.

9th's beats were far from basic when he was chopping samples like people weren't really doing before him. Yeah he was reusing drums but the way he manipulated samples was top tier.

He has a style and signature sound but he's not just flipping soul samples over boom bap drums and he's done R&B songs:

Listen to his newer instrumental albums and he's doing different things.

And Pete Rock may be a conspiracy nut and a weirdo but he's still dope on production.
