In high school I was a nerd...one of the kind that was cool with everybody but still was a nerd. Didn't go out to parties, skipped prom cause it wasnt my thing, didnt fukk bytches, didnt chill after school or nothing. Im attractive but growing up people always made fun of me. I've been called "Blackie" because my skin is apparently really dark :manny: , my deep voice has been made fun of harshly, I used to be quite skinny (skinny now again cause the winter ruined my gym flow) and whenever I got bad grades I would tear up because my parents scared me. Girls would say hi to me, and I'd say just say, "hi" because I was very introverted and had nothing else to say. :yeshrug:

Fast forward years later and i still dont go out much, i'm happy i didnt go to prom, have fukked a few bytches :ld:, my deep voice makes these ladies go :lawd: and I can bag girls for the most part when i want...I'm very selective. Them same nikkas (some who are my friends) that threw rocks at me aint shyt in comparison.

Dog......

Minus the having really dark skin, everything else you wrote here is a mirror-image of my life, right down to the getting skinny in winter time. shyt happens every year. I hate that shyt.

Edit: I did go to prom tho.

Great thread. Only people that live above their means are those that try to keep up with the Jones', or those who don't have an understanding of contentment. Doing less with more doesn't mean you're cheap, it just means you have a keen understanding of what you need to be happy.

Didn't always have that understanding, and I blew alot of bread fresh outta college...nowadays I awaken to every new day with an appreciation for the extra bread that's still in MY name in a bank account, as opposed to money wasted for frivolous "good times" and other miscellaneous fukkery.

I still splurge every now and then when I feel the need to show that I still got it though...but a fool and his money are soon departed.

I'm fat, lazy, and a terrible person breh :manny:

I genuinely look at women as objects, don't respect them, and harbor a lot of hate for them. I'm not in it for love or a relationship. fukking bytches from Backpage is as convenient and blase as ordering a pizza and I like it that way.

Men have to change their entire lifestyle when they start chasing women the conventional way. I'm not willing to devote such a large portion of my day to the pursuit of women. :yeshrug:

:ld:

I actually feel where you coming from believe it or not......

If you aint feeling female companionship right now then hopefully you getting after that paper ...Forreal

It takes a lot of time/energy to get after broads, especially if you don't want a relationship and all you wanna do is smash......

Some of these chicks can be Dream Killers....But that's a different thread

I'm 34 and only really figured this out a couple years ago. I wasted a LOT of money in my youth on cars. :smh:

I can say I'm living below my means because, while I can afford shyt like cable, I choose not to pay for it because I'm content with using alternate ways of viewing my content.

You're speaking on the same thing but from more of a wealthy person's perspective. You can live below your means regardless of your tax bracket.
I hear you but things like your example even have me conflicted on if your (general not you personally) really living below your means or not. If that cable bill was the equivalent to piece of candy financially would you really use alternate aka free/stolen to view your content? I guess thats what I'm getting at but I definitely agree that you can live beneath your means at any bracket but for me I think on middle class level that line is kinda blurry for me from what I see personally.

I'm married so it's really 2 incomes going towards the bills. We can afford cable, it's just so overpriced IMO that I have a hard time paying for it when I have access to everything I want already.

I admit... I'm a CHEAP dude breh.

Instead of focusing on living "within" your means why can't the focus be on intelligently increasing your means?

The focus should be living below or within your means at any income level. Doesn't matter how much you make if you are spending more than you are bringing in you are losing.

There are people making well over 100k with credit card debt to the ceiling and expensive cars and houses living paycheck to paycheck. Humans have a tendency to spend more as they make more. Ideally I would like to try and keep my lifestyle the same as my income increases at least up until a certain point.
