I don't know if anybody mentioned this but imo living beneath your means is when you can comfortably cop a bentley (other big time material items) and you cop a used maxima (or equivalent material item) type flow. I don't really think of living beneath your means being when dudes don't really have the money to spend anyway and their just not buying the luxuries they would if they had it. I guess it could be considered doing so I just don't look at it like that. I don't many people like that that have big money and are living beneath their means. Those types are usually spending their money except for one of my dads friends that mofo is just cheap though. I know alot of 9 to 5 types that don't buy luxury stuff and think just off that they are living beneath their means though.

The focus should be living below or within your means at any income level. Doesn't matter how much you make if you are spending more than you are bringing in you are losing.

There are people making well over 100k with credit card debt to the ceiling and expensive cars and houses living paycheck to paycheck. Humans have a tendency to spend more as they make more. Ideally I would like to try and keep my lifestyle the same as my income increases at least up until a certain point.

U know what's funny.. The white folks i work with see my dodge challenger and they just assume i'm rich and the sistas think i'm a baller and undercover drug dealer..

But unlike alot of people... i do the following

1. I Don't go out every week to the club.. probably once a month now and my girl is cool with that.. That's saving well over $ 100 a month if u go out every week

2. I Don't buy new clothes or shoes every week.. hell not even every 2 or 3 weeks.. I'm not here trying to impress a chick by the way i dress.. hell i know nikkas and i know u guys know nikkas who have the latest designs and shoes, but this nikka riding the metro bus or asking u for a ride..

3. I shop at dollar stores for bread, household cleaners and detergents..

4. My girl has a photo album full of coupons.. so i go to the store and my grocery bill might be $50.00 I only pay $15 to $20 after coupons.

5. I don't eat out everyday like i use to.. no mcdonalds, burger kings, etc, etc..

6. I eliminated people out my life, which in turn eliminated people asking me for money

7. no smoking habits.. my boys spend 20 dollars a day on cig's. i'm like man thats 150 dollars a week....

Then i have people ask me damn Poetic u go to brazil, colombia, and all these other places u must be rich... I be like if u say so, i'm just doing me nothing special... But they don't know i have connections in terms of going out the country or i have a connection where i can stay at the MGM in vegas for free for 4 days every year...

My main thing.. i look how warren buffet lives his life and try to follow his rules... That's why i took all money out of certain stocks and bonds and start investing and studied different investments...

I even told people when they ask, i don't have kids or a wife but if i did i would do the same things.. because i'm a cheap motherfuker and my only thing is to live my life the way i want

Youre right that you shouldnt wait till youre 60 to enjoy yourself, but you also shouldn't blow money so much that you have to work till youre dead. Nobody in here advocates for living like a hermit or w/e till you turn 60, but recklessness and financial stupidity is like the norm in American culture.

I have a thing where I'll only talk to girls if I happen to be in a coincidental situation. For instance, maybe I am at a basketball game and I happen to be sitting beside them...maybe were both alone waiting for the same bus...shyt like that. I rarely go out of my way, doing the whole trot down to a girl and trying to spit game at them. The most ill do it call em over if theyre already in my vicinity. I just converse and get the number at the end.

How are you saving money if you are spending more than you make? I didn't say anything about anyone enjoying their lives more. I still spend money and enjoy spending that money - I just make sure that I spend less than I bring in. Thats all living below your means is.
