Nah, Too $hort released "Don't stop rappin'" in '83, LL released "Radio" in '85.

They're both some type of smooth player rappers; they're not too different.

Too $hort was selling tapes out of the trunk, LL had the whole machine behind him since his introduction to the game; he was pop from the start.

lol. please explain how LL was "pop from the start". this should be entertaining.

theyre VERY different. too short is a mysoginyst(sp?) and makes fantasy pimp raps. thats not anywhere near anything LL rapped about.

LL dropped "i need a beat in '84". too short selling tapes out the trunk doesnt mean the album was released. LL was lurking around before he got on.

"RIP Robert E Lee" is what hip hop should be though, right? :mjlol:
How many of those lines can you quote from him like that? Folks keep going back to that 1 song, that he did about 30yrs into his career...like he aint have 30yrs of history BEFORE that song. Wow. Ok. This is the difference between Hip Hop and Rock...they respect their legends, we, for some reason, seem to only want to find new ways to tear ours down. Let's not forget our real history people. If it wasn't for people like LL Cool J, this board wouldn't exist in the first place. It's actually insane how we chose to treat our very own history.

nope, im not respecting nobody saying RIP Robert E Lee, sorry. Maybe if LL stuck to making good, creative, organic hip hop music he would have respect

LL might be the 80s goat which is the first golden age, and yall blowing his shyt off like rhyme king 'o multis aint up to par and shyt'

I didn't say he was in my top 5 or 10 but the way we write off 80s rappers in the coli is sickening :scust:
