:beli: Rakim ain't never off beat while Nas:ehh:

But Lyrically Nas is the Son to the God EMCEE Rakim.

1. Rakim
2. Nas

Nas does go offbeat sometimes but that's only because he has a much more diverse flow whereas Ra's flow (and everybody that tried to imitate him back then) has the same flow 90% of the time. Don't get me wrong, it was revolutionary and you can't tell the story of rap without it, but to say it was never improved upon by albums like Illmatic? Nah..

Ra represents old school and that's that.

:russ: U just admitted that Nas ain't 1 hundred with the flow. Just show's a lot U cats don't know shyt bout flow.

Flowin for Ra is like us human's breathing...comes naturally. Can Nas rock over any BPM and no go off beat...Ra can.

Perfect Example. This at 122 BPMs. Ra is not flowin over the beat or on the beat or off the beat or even behind beat...he's flowin within the beat.

Do you guys even understand what flow is? How else could you possibly think that the legends from the '90s haven't improved the old school flow drastically? That's like the single most important difference between 'old school' and 'new school'. It's all about the evolution of flow. It's not so much about multi's or content, it's the flow. You can tell within three seconds of hearing a verse whether it's from the '80s or '90s. Come one man..

on top of that, nas could flow off beat and sound good. so can ghost and 96 ras kass. ra has to flow on beat. i've never heard ra effortlessly float on a beat like nas did on one plus one. thats a lot harder to than following snares.

nas, ghost, g-rap, pun before he became morbidly obese, 90s nature, old eminem, az, biggie, old raekwon, etc.

Nas goes off beat at times but he can flow
G Rap is right there but he stumbled here and there before he was just as good as Ra in his peak 95-98 period
:laff: @ Pun...he had to punch in a lot of his rhymes...FOH
EM was right there technically along with Black Thought and Moe Dee but he couldn't see Ra with the flow
Ghost and Rae ain't flowers they talkers...which they mastered
Biggie was right there along with Meth but they would sacrifice lyrics for the flow unlike Ra
:russ::heh::childplease::usure: at Nature
AZ was sick with the flow...Rather Unique is a great example. But he couldn't switch up his flow like Ra could.

Besides that Nature drop, not a bad list but No they ain't seein the Inventor and Master of Flow
