random observation.. i'm 29, i don't really congregate with kids much anymore unless its a family function and i'm around all my nut ass little cousins and shyt. threw a party this weekend at my crib, fam came out, and fortunately or unfortunately they all consider me young so they speak freely around me. every other word out these lil 17-18 year olds mouths was "thot", "opp", "lean", "trap, etc.... smh. are the youngins in your area on the same shyt? lol, i had no idea it was this ratchet out there with the shorties. how can anybody fix their lips to say rap music doesn't have a negative influence on the babies?

sounds like they weren't raised in a house where the parents corrected them on the proper way of talking and slang is their routine. I dont see how thats a negative influence rooted in Hip Hop. Black folks been talking improper way before Hip Hop. You ever read Huckelberry Fin? N*GGer Jims vocab was all over the place and Hip Hop didnt even exist.

do you live in Chicago?

I've noticed their lingo has been circulating around Black communities everywhere after the rappers there made it popular.

and I agree, Hip Hop influences the youth anyone who says different is lying to themselves.

I notice this same exact shyt on every hip hop board I've had this discussion on, people will flat out deny that hip hop is responsible for promoting and glorifying a lot of these behaviors that our youth are participating in.

Dude...I remember when I was a teen Rza said " I got maaaad bags of dust" in the song What The Blood Clot. And then months later Raekwon was sniffing his brains out on the song "Knowledge God" When I actually started sneaking around to smoke dust and sniff coke....guess which music I threw on first? That Wu Tang. If Hip Hop is a negative influence to the babies now...then it always was....i mean even Pac said Whodini had him smoking Buddha
