The prison industrial complex is a topic that no mainstream rapper dare touches on.

These rappers don't want to fukk up their relationship with the people who feed. The same corporations that dabble in the music business also dabbles with the same corporations that own prisons. It's really a dirty game.

Don't tell that to no street rapper from the 90s about that

They the ones that made street cred and going to jail a damn rite of passage and to be "real" in front of society.

street rapppers from the '90s spoke on it all the time.

and street rappers of today speak on it as well. they may not be mainstream, because most of the street rappers getting deals now dont rap about chit.

They spoke about the harsh realities, yeah, but let's not get into the sensationalizing parts of being "hard" all the time. Sticky Fingaz is one of them.

Its true. Hip Hop does influence the youth, more than what people give credit for.

To dudes posting fantasy land ideals asking "how would the youth be if all hip hop was positive" ask yaself how would these kids be if hip hop simply ceased to exist. The hood and the mentality it perpetuates is a beast all unto its own, these kids who get caught in destructive lifestyles will come out just the same....just as they did in the 60's, 70's, and 80's before hip hop was a thought/before the music was dumbed down.

Like another poster said, sit behind your screens and wax poetic about the poison hip hop is....OR go out in these communities, address the core issues, and work to touch one of these kids' lives. I see which side of the fence most of y'all are on :mjpls:

Most rap is retrograde thug music. I know people don't like to hear that sort of thing but Dolores Tucker and Bill Cosby were right. Rap has done more to criminalize black people than uplift. I mean just compare the music we were making 30 or 40 years ago to where we are now. Black kids use to play instruments b. We always been the baddest musicians. I know it's not all black folks fault, they defunded our musical programs. That's how rap came to be. Everyone I grew up with is on a wannabe rapper tip. That's how I know it's bad.

posts like this, and A LOT of others that i saw in this thread, shocked the hell out of me. i'm amazed to see that some other young black males who were practically raised by hip hop are still able to think rationally and logically in regard to Rap and it's impact on the youth and it's misusage of influence, wasn't expecting that, :ohhh:.

salute to you and all of yall who actually care about our community and our posterity.

Yup shyt is really bad out here man but honestly I don't think they can be saved.

It's our responsibility as adults to make sure that the next set of adults aren't like this.

We gotta lead by example brehs :noah:
