I agree with OP 100% but I wouldn't isolate hip hop cuz in the 60s CACs at Woodstock were doing LSD bcuz their fav bands were talking about that shyt too. Only difference between rap and rock at that time tho is the overt glorification of violence I guess. Wed b dumb to sit here and say rap has zero influence but some fans flat out deny it because then it means you're acknowledging the arguments of bill oreilly about rap being a negative influence holds weight. On the flip side tho, I listened to rap my whole life and turned out fine but I credit that to being able to always differentiate between what's real and entertainment. Lol I don't believe a fukkin word these rappers say..

If a nikka dumped 60K in Jeezy van and loved his music what do you think he was doing before he ever heard of Jeezy?Rap is the soundtrack of peoples lives who already livin what the rapper is rappin about. Aint crime down in a lot of major cities across America?didnt Chicago just have the lowest murder rate since 1965 after they cracked down on the drug trade? Yall swear this shyt is more violent and ignorant than ever before back in your time

Yet shyt was waaay worse back in the day from what I remember,so save all that "back when rap had a message:why:" shyt....I could give a shyt is rap is introducing new slang and fashion styles....nikkas would dress like people they see locally and use local slange if they in the streets,im supposed to be mad they got more options for slang and more examples of how to look ridiculous than we did due to innanets:mjlol:

Rappers rap about what they get from the streets and not vice versa....I do salute a rapper like Jeezy for realizing you can have an impact once you got they ear, like he said his music stopped dude from killing somebody.....but if u really believe a nikka who trappin would listen to Dead Prez "if only they were promoted more:why:" you full of it....they gon listen to whoever they relate to and can provide a soundtrack for em....it would be nice if rappers realized through possibly relating to someone thru the bull shyt and the entertainment side, that maybe they could also reach somebody on a positive note as well sometimes who needs it....unlike what a Dead Prez or Public Enemy could do.....not doing anything to change somebodys already existing mindset is not influence though, irresonsible when you KNOW?,but it aint they responsibility either:manny: id say moreso a lot of them not doing the RIGHT thing...no way can I blame hiphop for the conditions that's silly. you can fault em for not even TRYING to do the RIGHT thing and try to guide those they can. But aint no telling how many they would effect, but sumthings better than not doing anything knowing its possible.....But what are the rest of us doing? 99% of us underestimate our own influence we could have on people so what makes you less guilty? its millions of people who talk this same shyt the op talking,u tellin me the millions of yall complainin cant reach ONE person and show em u care and change they life? nah u sat around while they talked about thots and other shyt u found ignorant and came to make a thread about it:mjlol:....yall a million strong,go change a million lives:mjpls:

Hip Hop doesn't influence the youth,,kids been killing and doing dirt in 3rd world countries and they don't even listen to hip hop..matter of fact they listen to more positive music,,hip hop is a reflection of the hood..the hood isn't a reflection of hip hop..Marilyn Manson (one of music's greatest minds) already spoke on this ...during the Great Depression a time in Americas worst murder rate..hip hop didnt exist..stop blaming hip hop like some bytch made fakkits

you left the link there for what?:childplease: ive been listening to dead prez prolly longer than you.

if you think that subject matter is all that counts, then youre living in a fantasy world and should think twice before you try to call someone an idiot on the sly.

and for the record, dead prez was indeed getting a lil bit of street play for a minute, but not at the level that some of yall seem to want them to be at.
