Happens all the time in football, as far as cashing out despite only having a couple of good games. Look at matt cassell or matt flynn. The worst was larry brown, but you get the point. I think most level headed people knew lin was marginal but could have a few good games here and there, but there's a reason only houston offered that much money and I truly doubt it was,his skill. Trust me, houston is probably benefiting as much from having him there as lin is by being there.

It was absolutely financial. There's a large Asian community in Houston, and you know the owner was like

thinking about all the dough he could make. So much that when it came to that final year, he could be like :manny: cause he was already eating on the front end.

yup, I said from the jump that houston was looking to capitalize on the leftover houston fans from the yao era.

They got to the playoffs inspite of Lin. He disappeared in too many big games. For every one good game he has he will flop in 5. And so many people shytted on so many established players.... All star players by trying to put Lin on that level. This nikka go more votes than Westbrook for the all star game. It's not about Lin for me it's the dumb ass fans.

realest shyt ever wrote

The stat nerds look dumber than anyone on this Lin stuff. Using all that Hollinger bullshyt to argue that Lin would be a much better fit than Felton and that the Knicks made a huge mistake. This one dude who writes for the NYTimes wrote that letting Lin walk was his last straw as a Knick fan :dead: All those clowns are pretending like they never made any of these statements.

i have to see the article but frequently people that dont know stats mislabel dumb people as stat heads. Using stats does not make you a stat head, its which stats you use. From what I saw no bonafide stat heads thought Lin was anything special. Not with all those turnovers, that completely fukked up any type of proficiency rating he had. Stop blaming the wrong enemy!

He won tho. Dude got paid literally off a month of great play

This is a myth, he DIDNT win. Because if he didnt try to backstab the knicks and go back to houston for an extra measly 5 mill hed be in New York where even playing as bum as he did this season hed have loads of asians packing the garden every night and wouldve cashed in on HUNDREDS of millions in endorsements. Now he stuck on an 8th place team in the western conference, not getting overhyped like he would in NY and about to fade and "only" made 25 million. But hes such a genius harvard graduate right? foh that chink let his agent/fans/media gas him and he stopped thinking. typical lame niggga.

amen

one of the weirdest phenomenons ive seen in sports

not really that weird. you have to understand Melo is seen as a thug and "selfish" aka code word for ******. Lin was the saintly little azn that was supposedly unselfish. Of course the media sided with him.

Honestly do you watch basketball :comeon: ? People usually don't pay players for a week of good games and they do people usually laugh at them . If that's the case jr and Nate Robinson would be Max players :leostare: and you tell Lin that he's Marginal he's the one who keeps decrying how no one drafted or offered him scholarship due to being Asian . Yet with his skill level he needs to either prove us wrong or be quiet and enjoy your money

You're talking about a guy that's averaged 14/6/3/2 over the last two seasons.

I don't think people thought he was coming for the PG crown, but he's had two good years... players have gotten paid more for less.

That being said, last year he got ate up by strong defensive PG's, this year it's the same thing. Westbrook haunts his dreams, chalmers ate him up... they're too quick, and his handle still needs a lot of work. Work it didn't get this summer as he healed from surgery.

But he's young, with room for improvement. Hopefully this summer he gets to work on his ballhandling, because it's holding him back.
