85% of the population can't "afford" most colleges/universities..... and lenders know this... but the money is loaned regardless....

The principle still stands whether its 200k or 40k..... A 19 year old couldn't secure that type of loan without assets/collateral

Like I said at the jump, college is an investment. Nothing more, nothing less. You can EASILY come out the winner vs the lenders, but a lot of cats don't because of various reasons.

Don't invest in shyt that doesn't make any financial sense.

shyt, I could've gone to Cornell until I saw that cost of attendance. fukk that. Went to a school much cheaper and still had a great rep. Use the System, don't let it use you.

school is an investment, not a right or privilege. If you choose poorly, and don't position yourself to get a job in a field that will help you pay off and manage your loans, then that's on YOU.

School is for education. An investment is a gamble.

There's no real reason why a "first world country" should be raping people for choosing to pursue higher education at state schools

This country is shooting itself in the nuts by saddling the future workforce with lifelong debt.

I consider myself as a conservative realist, but you have people that think free or reasonably priced higher education is some sort of socialist hippy idealist pipe-dream (I've seen someone describe it that way in the Forbes comment section )

Dudes is acting like 17 or 18 year old's have financial knowledge, or understand this may be a life shaping decision. When I was young I thought college was about learning to be a better person and getting a degree in something I would love to do for the rest of my life(as previous generations thought) The 2010 classes are essentially the first classes of people going to college in which the news and financial analyst are essentially say, hey fukk doing what you love. If you go to college work towards a degree that pays the most money. nothing else matters.

Be the same ones talking about, "You should think about going back to pursue your masters"

When I was locked up , they used to tell us "Chaffee Grant ! Chaffee Grant! 10K for college" So I wasnt trippin cuz I knew I was going to college when I got out and I knew I had 10K coming

Well I got out and hit up Chaffee Foundation for my chips, and they was like "Were you a ward of the court? "
Me: "Yeah , of course"
Them: "Was you in foster care?"
Me: " I was at a group home for a couple days then AWOL'd .....but Im still a ward of the court. I just did 4 yrs"
Them : "Sorry we only accept foster kids"
Me: " So I was lied to and sold a dream for years . Now I have nothing . Cold world"


All these foundations ,colleges, etc dont give a fukk . They just talk that goodie goodie shyt . Juvenile delinquents get shyt on , then they wonder why 7/10 juvy delinquents stay in and out of the pen when they get older . Mfs railroading us

I just addressed this before seeing your post. I realized I was lucky as shyt to have had a great guidance counselor. When I fukked around and missed a bunch of deadlines for getting free rides he hit the phones and got different school to offer up packages so I could afford to go to school. My girl was pregnant at the time and I was fighting with her and her family about where I should go to school which is what lead to me missing my deadlines. Dude knew my situation and grinded for me. I got lucky. .

She's probably not applying for/accepting some jobs because she thinks they're "beneath her." If her degree was in anything decent she could probably get a job paying 60k easy with degrees from Harvard and Cornell just based off the names and whatever work experience she has.
