Are you Caribbean?

Thornton Heath is in Croydon albeit most people from South London don’t look at as Croydon tho. That’s where Krept & Konan are from.

Growing up, Norwood & Thornton Heath (& Clapham to an extent) used to have all the nicest Caribbean tings, especially lighties, lol. Memories, man.

London used to be so much fun (also very rowdy & dangerous). But then again, when you’re in your teen yrs to early 20s…the recklessness is part of everything & how you have fun.

Anyway, I’m from around Brixton sides & I went to school with a lot of dem Brixton lot.
You already know. My mothers side of the family is Guyanese. I was out there having the time of my fukking life when I was 14-15. Cousins took me to all the parties. Whole fukking double decker buses full of girls wildin on the way to the party. This is back when they used to put them gem stickers on their teeth. I had never seen that shyt before. Good times.

I could tell. Brixton to Thornton Heath, that’s defo Caribbean, lol.

Those were the good times. At the back of the upper bit of the double decker buses playing loud music from those Sony Ericsson phones that has mp3 with the gyaldem. The raves, funfair in the parks, parties, the fights, etc. South London was so much fun during summer.

Some of the young tings still use dem gem stickers now, lol.

What's job market in London like? I would assume NY will have more opportunities than London.

I was in Shoreditch, Brixton and the area around Regent’s Park. I saw brehs but like I said it felt like the dominant culture felt European outside of Brixton. But that’s the thing about NY, you don’t have to go deep into the hood to see minorities. Even in the white areas there’s still a presence of minorities whether it’s the people on the street or the ethnic restaurants or other stores. London felt segregated and like I had to go out of my way see anything but cacs
Idk bro…when i was in nyc, that place was mad white. I went to dumbo, downtown Brooklyn, Williamsburg, Soho, Chelsea, etc.

How are you going to romanticize actual garbage? Like legit food and trash in the street??!? :mjtf: :why: You reaching bro.

Very similar cities, just up to your own personal preference. Nyc is a lot more impressive for first time visitors because it’s so in your face with the architecture and London takes more time to appreciate. It took me around 5 times to really appreciate London and it helps big time to know people there that can show you around.

NYC is one of the most overrated cities full of ppl with huge egos who haven’t Accomplished much.

NYC
1) dusty and dirty
2) have the most masculine women in the world…top 1 or 2 spot
3) ppl not even gettin money like how you’d believe

London
1) cleaner
2) safer
3) nice, kind ppl
4) very few manly hoes
5) more fashionable
6) lotta dope spots
7) extremely integrated
8) food is ok at best tho :/
9) overcast when not in the summer

Anyone else been to both?

Us non east coast folks had these high expectations for nyc based on tv, movies and music…but after you’ve finally arrived especially if you’ve been to Tokyo, London, or any other world class city…can’t help but be disappointed.

Chime in

So what is the world class city of the United States then breh cause if it aint NY it could only be LA or Chicago.
