Football is only dangerous to pussies with bad technique.

It's always pathetic to see dudes rooting against a game to the the inferior popularity of their game.

Sad for the family though, RIP to a kid who passed away at such a young age.
Too bad I enjoy watching football :eediat:

With all the apparent upgrades and knowledge...it seems kids are getting more hurt. idk...were the old designed helmets better? They're becoming lighter arent they? I really dont recall any scary stoppages throughout the 10 years or so I played. (mid 90's to the early 2000's)

There shouldnt be 3rd and 4th grade tackle...I remember they introduced that when I entered 5th grade(first year of tackle)...
You can start playing tackle football at 4 years old in Alabama

Parents scared their kids will die playing football.

Parents are scared their kid will get hit with a baseball at 70mph and die.

Parents are scared of black people.

Looks like hockey is going to become huge in America. :troll:

Why am I tagged

As I said in the CTE thread

Football will end because of mothers and science not because of soccer and basketball

I have neve denied the hazards of football

Remember I'm the one who made the thread "football is stupid"

Not in the hood breh. As long as football is an escape hatch, kids will play.

Word. Thats why I hate reading all the "duhh of course its dangerous, everyone knows the risks" comments that try to deflect the criticism. NOBODY knew the risks when we were younger. We didn't know what a concussion was and coaches didn't explain it. We assumed the helmets and pads were protecting us from the risks. Broken bones, joint and spinal injuries were always there. But long term brain damage? Thats new...
You didn't see the warning stickers on helmets? You really thought helmets protected is after hearing earl Campbell?

Yeah we all saw the sticker and coaches told us to read the sticker when helmets were given out. The gist was don't lower your head and use it as a weapon. Like I mentioned, we all (at least I did) interpreted that as how to avoid breaking your neck. I knew very little about Earl Campbell and nothing about his post-playing days so the idea of football players ending up "punch drunk" never crossed my mind...

lot of high schools can barely afford to field a football team as is. not too long before insurance and lawsuit risk rises to the point where high schools just drop the sport all together
