Less competition is a bad thing. It will give Amazon and Best Buy a reason to stop giving 20% off new games.

Imagine if Comcast bought all their competition and we were stuck with their shytty practices...not a good thing.

If Microsoft leaves the gaming business Sony will start acting up. They are already coasting with the PS plus giving us shytty games while MS is stepping up. It's all cause of competition.
Then they'll get tossed to the bushes too :martin:

Y'all are over thinking this and showing a little too much sensitivity for Gamestop. For years Gamestop was THE go to place for video games. For a lot of people it was seen as the only option. Like blockbuster before them, Gamestop has gotten complacent and made it easy for other stores to step in and eat their lunch. Maybe if they accepted slimmer profit margins for their used games they would still be a strong video game supplier. Instead they hold onto their poor business practices and if they don't change they will eventually disappear like all business that refuses to adapt. We have eBay, Amazon, newegg, bestbuy, target, Walmart, and a bunch of other stores available to buy games from. Gamestop shutting its doors isn't going to destroy the gaming market. Those of us old enough have already seen prominent games stores shut down and be replaced by better ones. Funcoland, electronics boutique, kb toys, were all swallowed up in the wake of Gamestop. I can go on and on about the things Gamestop has done wrong and what they need to do to fix it but the bottom line is I don't care. If you guys want to pay $12 more for a game because you have some weird blind loyalty to a company then so be it but stop pretending that Gamestop is some corner stone of the video gaming world that if removed everything will crumble around us. :manny:

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
GameStop be raping nikkas hardbody but it's a dedicated game store. It's gonna def get swallowed by the big chains but it's like how Sam Goody and Tower Records were still having to sell cds for like 17.99-19.99 while Best Buy and Target etc was selling them for like 10 bucks on release. fukk GameStop overall tho cause they not even competitive with they used games. They don't have a good return policy. And if u trade in an accessory or console they try to hit u with a refurbish fee on some bullshyt. They do be jerkin nikkas and have bad business practices.

They're flat out disgusting with their used game prices. I went a couple of weeks ago cause I was close to one with my niece and wanted to get her her own copy of Rayman Legends. They had it there, used for $35 :hhh:

Everywhere else has that same game used for under $20 and you can get it off eBay for less than $20, sealed, not used. Hilarious markup

It is absolutely not. Amazon Prime is something else entirely really so let's not compare that but GCU is a $30 fee for 2 years membership. Then you get 20% off every new game. This a $10 charge that nets you $10 off a selection if like 5 games and only last for a few months. You have to buy the games in a very limited timeframe too
