Nique was my favorite player along with Magic in the 80s....and neither of them were a jack of trades, taking it to the defensive end. Only centers were expected to try to bring both. Brad Daughrety was shytted on for not bringing any D.
LOL @ the Chinese basketball team running iso's on old Nique in one of those international games.
Seriously though....the Ice Man, Alex English, Adrian Dantely and a lot of those players were one dimensional as fukk....just pure offense. They didn't get bashed for not bringing it on the defensive end like a lot of these dudes today.
MJ really set the bar on what it is to be considered a dominant wing player.
Reb going hard (Yes Hibbert) on the quality threads.

shyt by orchestrating that trade for Mark Aguirre. Dantley couldnt be stopped on the Pistons..
You can't really hold it against him that he had trouble guarding the Zeeks and KJ's of the world.
watching LeBron guarding Drose, Rondo, etc

though to be fair to any fan (yourself or otherwise) who may have thought so I could certainly see why it SEEMS that way because the NBA is only really accessible from 1980 and onwards, they don't really have much archives to showcase players from before then so the guys that came before the 1980's aren't usually on peoples minds.
