It is the worst scenario that I have ever experienced and it happened to me during the recession back in 08/09.

Staying positive even though it is difficult will show through the interview. The minute I showed that, I got the gig.

The game is rigged you wont get anywhere by playing fair. Let me tell you the REAL way to get a job.
1. you have to lie/ exaggerate especially if it's your first job
2.Make your cv as identical as possible to the jobs your applying for. When you upload your cv to databases the output the recruiter get's is keywords, if your cv does not include the keywoards you wont get contacted.
3. Try to get a recommendation, doesn't matter how shyt your cv is or how incompetent you are if you have a recommendation from someone already working at the company you're going to get hired.
4.Never have any too long gaps between employment recruiters see this as a red flag.

you know what's more depressing is when you spend 4 years working on a college degree, studying all night and shyt working your ass off and then you can't find a job because you don't have experience.
This. If I could go back in time and give my self one piece of information, it would be to start looking for a career freshman year. That way, I would've had four years to figure everything out

:mjcry: Why they don't want me man. Seriously though how hard was it for y'all to find a job when y'all was looking for another one. I know some people go for months and have no lucks, but brehs no i can't :mjcry:

When I stopped leaving gaps in my work history I got waaaaaay more callbacks. If you were in school or unemployed in the past 5-7 years, be sure to list those periods under your work history.

If you're too embarrassed to mention lengthy periods of unemployment, just write that you were doing temporary jobs at the time.

I swear I got 4 callbacks in 2 weeks just by rewriting my resume. Try it, then come back and let us know.

Despite that this semester is suppose to be one of the happiest times of my life, I'm sitting here sad and frustrated. Im graduating college in December and my job prospects are not great. I have been searching for jobs for a couple of months with no luck. I thought my life was off to a fresh start two weeks ago due to a manager calling me for an interview for a professional job. However, I was inexperienced so she asked me if I was interested in another position. I was even allowed to job shadow! Well, after not hearing from her for a couple of days, I emailed her and she replied that they were not looking to fill the position again. Then, boom, a week later- this Wednesday, she calls me asking my interest in another position-administrative/accounting position and my willingness to commit at least a year to it. I was excited. I was reassuring her that I was serious about the opportunity. After all, it is hard to get an entry level job in your profession when many call for 2,3,4,5 years of experience. I told her this. I told her I'm fully committed because opportunities like that does not come often. But, she still seemed a bit unsure. Well, today, I seen ads of the job she asked me about Wednesday, as well as the job she said they are no longer filling, on Indeed. I don't understand why she would do this to me for 2nd time!! Man, Krakkas have no loyalty. I can't wait until the day I don't have to stress over them giving me an interview and hiring me.

I been at my current job for 3 years+ and its my first job out of college

But most of my peers I started with have moved on to new jobs or went back to grad school

I'm in grad school part time too but I'm ready for a new challenge. My issue is that my current job is so flexible for school but I want to make more cash :damn:

Brother man the best advice I give at the moment is to exaggerate a little. Never lie and can't back it up. For instance say you worked at Aldi as a cashier, instead of writing cashed put lead associate and sprinkle a few duties that say perhaps your manager did. It worth a try and doesnt necessary negate your chance. Also I know this maybe difficult at the moment make yourself available to any opening. Sometimes our ego get in the way of plenty of opportunities. Had a few homies with that "if I'm not manager in a day I'm out mentality."

Keep going though. Don't give up.

It's sad especially for a black man. The job market is fuked up. It's best to update ur resume and if u know of any HR professionals and hiring managers...let them look at it. Having key words to the preferred job qualifications would help. Market urself by asking people u know in church, family, friends and family friends, people u see out who look gainfully employed and successful, etc. Don't smoke weed if u looking for work because of drug tests. Stay up late putting applications online...everything is done online nowadays.

I'm a working professional and with a master's degree and was laid off last year. I got a govt contractor job a month later because my mom asked a professional guy in a nail salon who was getting a pedicure and he gave me some jobs to apply. I applied for other jobs for that company and I got the job the day after I interviewed. Now I'm trying to get on a govt civilian job on usajobs.gov because I want more stability, better benefits and more money. U just gotta stay on it.
