City of champions BAWSTON
Sam Hauser is on the bench and projected to make 10 million next season. Jrue and Porzingis due a total of 60 mil, Tatum and Brown are 105 million combined next year. This shyt was never sustainable. I expect Hauser and either Jrue or White to be shipped off. Al gonna retire.

Jrue and Hauser(Brad Drafted his replacement) are out the door. They’ll attach a pick or two to Jrue to trade him to a team with cap, get a cheaper option at PG/SG.

welcome to the new NBA, where like the NFL, you gotta keep hitting on the picks and since everyone swears the pool of talent is so deep that we need 2 more teams, I'm sure teams can scrounge up a couple of guys.

You’re not wrong but I think the difference between the NBA and NFL is the learning curve for NFL players is smaller, way less development years

But even OKC in their current era while they’ve had some big hits aren’t without misses on the 1sts they kept

Bazley & Pokusevski out the league, Tre Mann dumped for 2 months of Gordon Hayward, Giddey over Franz Wagner looks to be a big miss, Ousmane Dieng in Y3 and still can’t crack the rotation

Replacing proven rotation pieces with guys on rookie deals when you’re trying to win is an inherent risk. It’s a hell of a lot easier said than done

It's kinda weird to me to present the supermax as a way to keep teams from losing homegrown stars, but then create a situation with these aprons that essentially penalizes them for using it
Dont fall for the propaganda. MJ was making 30 Ms+ a year in his last 2 seasons in Chicago. The salary cap was less than 30Ms. Meaning there was no limit on what you could pay to retain a star while other teams would have to try to fit them under the cap. KG got a record contract after his 3rd season. Supermax was just a bandaid on the mess that max contracts made. The owners know what they are doing. Competing and winning is not top priority.

There were no apron restrictions, or even a luxury tax, when MJ or KG got those deals.

Thats my point. You think they added those things to help teams keep their players? Nope it was all about money and making things easier on cheap, incompetent owners.

True but not all owners are the same though, hence this thread.

As with most things, the incompetent, cheap, or straight up haters are in the majority. Every rule change since FA has been about protecting owners from them selves/protecting their pockets.

Fans dont help by blaming everything on the players.
