This is why he's being investigated by the feds. This isn't going to be a state case, he's likely going to get hit with a cross state conspiracy/sex trafficking charges and that tape is just going to be one of the pieces of evidence but not the actual basis of the charges if I had to guess.

The videos are not similar, tbh. Dana white wife would have caught a charge....she slapped him and he matched the action.
In no situation from that video would Cassie catch a charge.
I don't think diddy gives af if his career is done, long as he doesn't see jail time. I'm sure cosby and r kelly would've gladly took being forever canceled than being in jail. Who gives af if you're canceled, he still got millions

One thing this has shown is that even after BLM, george floyd and all he protesting, black folks still don't know hardly anything about how the law works. Kind of scary actually how comfortable folks are with mob justice given the history of how its been applied to black men. People are also still conflating criminal and civil cases. Civil cases do not prove criminal guilt or innocence (beyond a reasonable doubt or 99% sure). Civil cases only prove liability (More likely he is responsible than not or 51% sure). Civil cases ARE only about money and not guilt or innocence. So saying the accusers were not after puffs money when filing a civil suit is just not true. Those are just facts. Doesn't mean puff is a good guy or a good role model. He never has been. But perspective is necessary if you going to have a real discussion about this.
And even if this incident was within the statue of limitations he probably would have got a slap on the wrist or probation and some anger mgmt classes. A lot of the people clutching pearls support celebs and people in their own families with DV and assualt charges. The Hip hop yall support is not built off family values and morals.

It doesn't matter. The statute of limitations on the federal level for assault is 5 years. The time to prosecute him by the Feds expired in 2021. HOWEVER, in a sex trafficking case with all kinds of charges, they will surely use this video to show how he used violence to control women. He couldn't be charged with this particular beating but it could still be used against him for other charges.
Its not going to be a federal assault case is my point....they can see still enter this as evidence of a different crime as you said
