I see that same shyt everyday in Oakland

West Oakland in particular got it really bad... ain't gon lie though I been desensitized to it for years, out here the shyt is not new. It's only gotten worse during Covid.
At the same time I do remember when it wasn't this bad... back in '06 you didn't see it in East Oakland like that, let alone under literally every single overpass or under every elevated BART rail. There were more abandoned houses and businesses to squat inside in general... there used to be hella squatters in a big 3 story brick building in the West near the abandoned train station, now its luxury lofts occupied by mostly white people lol. Also the home & rental prices were 4-5x lower... it's a lotta displaced folks these days on the streets moreso than addicts and folks don't got nowhere to crash but the streets, especially because the city's homeless services are nowhere near as developed as SF's.
