Problem is Michaels wasn't drawing money against Austin like those guys were...Tyson fluffed up Mania 14. Michaels was able to leave like that and not matter because he wasn't a wanted top face by the fans like a Razor, Austin, or Taker were.
Sid wasn't having 5 star matches but fans loved Sid much more than Shawn Michaels and that's why he was headlining WM 13 while Shawn was hiding in San Antonio with fake injuries. Taker is much more respected by the fanbase than Shawn...always has been. From day one.You gotta be trolling. Undertaker was a stiff for like the first 7 years of his run. Sid was as entertaining as you can be when your lifetime average match rating is like 0.2* and your promos are more remembered for hilarious live mic botches than anything else. The only good thing about Bret was his in-ring, which apparently you don't value all that highly considering you made this thread so that doesn't really make sense to me.
Taker and Sid were so entertaining that they had the worst WrestleMania main event in history. I'd rather have had HBK vs Undertaker tbh but I guess that would have been less entertaining to you?
Yeah Jose Lothario was lame and in retrospect, earnest WWF babyfaces seem corny because Vince wanted them out there giving high fives and kissing babies and shyt. But at the time, he was the coolest guy to me because he did the best moves and didn't have boring matches.
I wasn't really checking for "edgy" promos as an 8 year old, I just wanted to see awesome moves and exciting action. HBGOAT delivered.
They're not telling you how unover he was at the Rumble 92 and how Razor came in on FIRE later that year and how Flair was ultra over....how Macho and Warrior were super over...Jake was unstoppable...Shawn was just a gear. A nobody. His big push didn't really get going until 95 and they still booed his ass when he was face going against Razor in the rematch.I was still a sperm thenthen.

and a good shawn michaels match never made up for all the TV time he'd hog in the weeks leading up to the match. especially considering that wcw & ecw were serving up better matches on regular television.
hbk wouldve been better served if he was positioned like say a jericho or guererro.

Jake wasn't champion because the Hogan train was going too strong and Macho was next in line after all of that....
Michaels was doing decent work in the ring but that didn't mean shyt to the overall presentation of characters because Warrior's pops BLEW away anything the Rockers could DREAM of getting.
Blandy is non draw and a loser on television and was a chump for years before his 07 super push. Macho was a superstar from day one and was champion by 88 when no one thought Hogan would ever give that belt up. It's not comparable because Cena and Blandy aren't on Macho's level in any form.
Warrior had super man matches..he no sell and come back a lot. The Macho Man WM 7 carryjob was damn near great and the Hogan match at WM 6 was a huge stand out.
