Good response :obama:

Idk about the "big sweaty men" comment cause that definitely doesn't apply to me.

I will say though, that the illusion that wrestlers are world class fighters and gapplers gets a bit cloudy when they look sloppy. Chris hero is a good example of this; when in shape he is generally more convincing as a tough guy. Unless you're the total opposite like Owens or Bigelow who look like brawlers in a bar, just being a fat guy or worse just being just...A guy, like Zach sabre jr, takes away from the suspension of belief.

You mention ZSJ and while I don't know a lot of his body of work I will say this

I believe the suspension of belief is there because he doesn't look roided out, when in all actuality a guy like Chris Masters with as much as there is in his body could never ever do what he does.

Maybe the best course of action here is to agree that all wrestlers should do as much as they can to stay fit naturally...I know the schedule is hectic but cheating isn't the answer, especially if the result isn't exactly acceptable

And on the other end...we as wrestling fans do need to come to terms with what we want as a consumers...do we want a more realistic product with people who look like actuall people or super heroes?

At the end of the day I suppose it doesn't matter though because the WWE will always push the same product creating the same stereotype

i just like to joke about it...but trust me when I say, when I was working heavy a few years ago...I would have definitely tried some light shyt for a cycle if it was accessable and cheap enough. Why not? I'm not a pro athlete. :manny:

I don't care if they do it, but I don't see a necessity for them to do so. I'm quite biased to this whole "guy who looks average joe yet can put on a great match in the ring" era. It's interesting because the roided up dudes actually look weird in this period of pro wrestling

ZSJ is an extreme example. Your average modern day wrestler isn't that skinny.

but wouldn't you agree that characters and storylines have the most to do with wrestling being entertaining? Looking at Lucha Underground, most of their wrestlers are small, and the big guys or monsters are really like 5'10 but the booking and camera angles make em seem 7'0. This is a TV show after all, and the booking to me has the most to do with what makes a guy legit, not saying looks don't play apart, but booking can definitely cover up or make most look past that stuff

Not only do I support it, I think moderate use is a good thing for a wrestler. Past a certain age, I think *at least* TRT is a wise choice.

I'm not advocating abuse or anything. Saying "I take steroids" is like saying "I eat food". It's vague and can be good, bad or horrific.

But proper usage helps you look the part, recover from injuries and recover from the training required to look the part and perform. Not to mention, it's safer. Who you want slinging your body around? Some do you even lift weakling or someone strong enough to control how you fall?

I get annoyed when wrestlers pull the whole "no one trains harder than me" shyt, but honestly, it's the media and the general public who are to blame for that. They're the ones that exaggerate the health effects and stigmatize them. What choice do you have other than lie if you are gonna get vilified for it?

Best to just shut the fukk up though. Pulling Cena style "users should be thrown in jail" bullshyt is cringeworthy

I can say I don't give a shyt but after seeing Eddie drop dead in the prime of his life cuz of steroids kinda ruins my argument. But a guy like baron corbin should absolutely destroy himself and shorten his lifespan with steroids. He needs every advantage he can get

We make fun of wrestlers when they are fat.

We make fun of wrestlers when they are skinny

We damn sure make fun of wrestlers when they are clearly juicing and the company they work on tries to act like everything is normal (even though they have a wellness policy)

:dead: at not getting clowning somebody over this in fukking TSC :mjlol:

at this point - i don't care because the wrestlers are already aware of the serious side effects of using roids + other drugs. this stuff should bother you if are a kid who still thinks wrestling is real. when i watch wrestling, i am not like OP such as checking out the wrestlers :hhh: all i care about are the story lines and the morale values you get out of it. of course, there is wrestling but most of this stuff is boring to me..

the only body you should worry about is your very own...

This. With the rise of professional combat sports, we know what those bodies look like. And aside from the Heavyweights (MMA's big guys shoving), they're not looking like Jinder Mahal and Dave Batista.

It's all in fun but WWE needs to be real about the shyt they do. Don't have a "wellness" policy if you're not gonna enforce it and when you do, you just so happen to bust people who don't affect your bottom line. Don't push anti-bullying when you have a 50 year old man in your employ doing that very thing to a fellow employee.
