I get a cheap two year deal to start off but what agent would have a client sign a five year deal at that stage and honestly never heard of a team offering a five year deal to a non drafted player. It doesn't add up at all

Nah man. Nobody was going to throw a huge bag at him after 1 hot streak in the playoffs. Take the guaranteed millions. We don't even know what covid will do to the salary cap moving forward

He's got the same contract a late first round pick gets and he wasn't even drafted. He'll be 25 when he's a free agent. If he's that good he can still bank and if he flops he's already banked $22 million.

Terms of the deal were not released, per team policy, but Marc Stein of the New York Times reported that it's a four-year deal worth $5.4 million.

The first year of the deal, which is for the rest of this season, will be a prorated amount of $155,647, according to ESPN's Royce Young. Dort will earn $1.5 million next season, $1.8 million in 2021-22 and $1.9 million in 2022-23, according to Young.
