Never been a fan really- but you nailed it, Ludacris is a character potrayed by Cris Bridges- not a rapper, and while plenty of rappers have been characters none to the extent of Ludacris, there’s always some sort of real life basis for them to pull off their lies from, even Ross had time around criminals as a CO to steal stories from.

There’s nothing real about Ludacris, all his raps and escapades are 100% fictional and meant to be seen that way, he could have easily been a tv show or cartoon like OP joked about. Honestly it makes his easy transition into acting logical, i don’t hate his music but i don’t care for it either, he had the look, the swagger, the delivery and vocabulary but never the substance.

This was a good write up, ill never understand how he won that Grammy and can only chalk it up to the satanic powers that be- now i should probably check myself to a hospital as listening to that many Ludacris songs in a row can’t be good for your mental health
So what you sayin is Ludacris is the reverse MF DOOM :ohhh:

If we being for real

He was corny from day 1

Even when he had songs that were catchy, they were always corny

I always thought the way he would add an emphasis on his accent on every last word at the end of his rhyme always sounded so corny
Dude is talented but cornered himself into a clown rapper :francis:

Souther Hospitality, almost GOAT song but the goofyness takes away from it

This thread was over cooked. It would've been best served just saying "Ludacris was always wack to me". The OP says the music didn't age well, but has a dissertation of multiple songs and then says the songs weren't memorable.

I've been on this site over a decade and it never ceases to amaze me how people have such vivid memories of music they deem forgettable and claim music that they never liked "aged terribly". The music didn't age terribly. The current adult version if you is realizing that younger you had a terrible taste in music. This will happen to most, if not all of us much like going back to some old clothes that either don't fit because we grew out of them or they simply are outdated. We might even question why we thought they were hot or ven bought it to begin with.

Crazy part to add to this they can remember a time in their lives when the music dropped .

Luda music was fun and he can rap .

I don’t understand what’s wrong with someone who is animated . So does every artist have to be the same ?
