Ludacris' music has aged terribly and it's high time we acknowledge it

Who cares. Music first and foremost is a reflection of the times. It was perfect for that moment in time! Whether something becomes “timeless” or “classic” is determined by past, present and future.

Should Ludacris career have been bigger than it was? He had the talent to be a legend IMO but he had a decent run and faded and is probably more know for Fast and Furious movies than being a rapper.

Idk Ludacris career was huge

He has 1 albums that's 4x Platinum, 1 album that's 3x Platinum, 2 albums that went 2x Platinum, and 2 other albums that went 1x Platinum

That's pretty fukking insane. There's not many rappers in history that can say that. Outside of Jay, Outkast, Eminem, Drake, Wayne, 2Pac, and Ye can any other rapper say they have 6 different albums that at minimum went platinum?

I guess you're right. I was more thinking where he ended up but that was a top tier run according to Gemini.

Add Nas and Missy Elliott to that list. And the list is even shorter considering they were going platinum pre-streaming.

ending up acting more than rapping?

could be various factors...maybe his heart just wasn't in rapping anymore
He has 2 albums in the last 20 years and the last one was 11 years ago. Unless you're 25+ and more like 30+ you don't even know him as a rapper.

yeah...after usher's superbowl performance, my coworker said her daughters (they're in college iirc) were like :dahell: why is the fast and furious guy on stage with usher rapping

made me feel both :mjlol: :flabbynsick:

and Common/Cube have said the same shyt when on set...Com said his costars in Never Have I Ever were shocked he was a rapper before...and Cube mentioned people know him more for acting than rapping (before the Straight outta compton flick dropped)

He had commercial success but present day Ludacris isn't treated as hip hop royalty like Nas or Jay. I don't even know if he's on that second tier with people like Busta. Even LL Cool J who mostly doesn't rap anymore is still considered a legend. I always thought Luda was very talented and I feel like he isn't really respected like he should be.
