Cole held that fame for a much longer time

Cole didn’t have an entire record label sabotaging his release dates and keeping him on the shelf because he refused to use pre-made records. There were extenuating circumstances that actively held back Lupe’s time on top.

Cole never went through all that. He made his OWN hit with Work Out and from that point has pretty much been able to do whatever he wanted artistically.

At minimum should have J Cole’s level of success.

Have Jay, Ye, & Pharrell backing you…yet choose to be an obtuse weirdo that ends arguing with Royce da 5’9 about setting up a rap battle in 2021 brehs.
That's on Atlantic not Lupe.
Lupe REACHED Cole level’s of success before anybody even cared who Cole was:gucci:
Nah breh I can't objectively say Lupe has seen Cole's success.

It is only fitting considering Royce had Eminem, Dre, and Trackmasters co-signs, but burned those bridges. He even had a Kanye beat and burned that bridge too. So he and Lupe had similar trajectories. Lupe just ended up more successful commercially and critically.

I’ve been seeing more behind the scenes of how rappers are piecing their bars together and it’s really not that impressive to me.

I think it’s more impressive how jay does his shyt in one take or just seamlessly without having to punch in and out.

Lupe is literally just rapping nonsense on these loosies

I thought it already got established he got fukked by his label cause he specifically did not want to take what they were giving him to be a star and he just went completely left of all that. Not everyone has to be on your radio station 24/7 having all the dumb bytches in the club screaming mid lyrics.

That verse he was working on sounded light imo, sounded like a throwaway Eminem/Royce verse, lol. I only watched for like 10 minutes tho so I don't know where he went with it and how it ended up, maybe he was just trying to find a flow and not necessarily using those lyrics.

When the albums dropping????? That's all I care about.

The verse in the video was him taking a clip of somebody hitting a speedbag and rapping over it with boxing references
