There were 500 murders in Chicago in 2009... Chief Keef didn't exist at the time... :mjpls:

Chicago music has ALWAYS been about killing, hoes & drugs... shyt was waaaaaaay worse when Bump J was buzzin' in 2005 because you had nikkaz who had no affiliation with Bump riding around doing ignorant shyt still tryna rep Goon Squad.

isnt it obvious that this behavior already is acceptable? hip-hop is the voice of the streets and the youth. chief keef represents both for his city. my problem is that his music sucks.

It is discouraging! My lil brother who always been a lil bad ass don't misunderstand is loving this shyt.

Thanks to Keef he now has dreads and saying that bang bang shyt! Going outside shooting people... Stealing cars...He's 18 now! You can't tell him anything because apparently he knows everything.

Keef didn't start it but he's definitely perpetuating the situation.

I respect Lupe and his opinion here but it's a bit misguided.. Hip hop doesn't traditionally have an affect on violent crime... Cities like DC, Baltimore and Gary Indiana have almost no local hip hop scene and nikkas drop like flies... More nikkas die at go-gos than gangsta rap shows... nikkas die at second lines in New Orleans all the time..

I didn't get that from that from this interview......I feel like Lupe was just commenting on the fact that the Chief Keef life style persona is celebrated.... is the fact that he is scared. The only reason he mentioned Keefs name is cause they asked him.......So he was not getting at the music per-say but the fact that the Chi murder rate is high....And at the same time the media (radio,TV,Internet) celebrates the types of nikkas that contribute to the violence (which Keef reps) ........Well thats just my take on his interview

But if it wasn't Chief Keef it would be somebody else... hell, even Dipset had a lot of influence in Chicago with nikkaz walking around acting reckless imitating their favorite artists... same thing with Jeezy & Ross IMO...

I think just because Keef is young people think it's an issue when they don't realize the young dudes in the Chi been acting that way for years...

Exactly like the dude you qouted said its the image that scares him not Chief Keef. There is always a rotation of these rappers and Lupe didn't say anything bad about chief. You really gotta watch the video and not run with the title. The reason why his name is even in the discussion is because the interviewer introduced it to the conversation. They've been trying to trip Lupe up and have him slip and get involved in stupid beef But he's been dodging it like the charger
