After reading these post alot of nikkas didnt watch the video he said nothing bad about chief keef and said he understands why he makes that music because thats what he see's. And thats the same shyt yall saying for keef's defense. Lupe is not saying keef is the problem.

 It took Cheif Keef years to get signed.
Even after I Don't had millions of views, he wasn't signed so we can't blame the label. And can you explain why they would sign Jay-z or Nas? Kanye or Cole? J. Electronica or Kendrick Lamar? Did Def Jam sign Frank Ocean and Lil Reese to create bi-sexual hipster gangsters :steviej:

It is discouraging! My lil brother who always been a lil bad ass don't misunderstand is loving this shyt.

Thanks to Keef he now has dreads and saying that bang bang shyt! Going outside shooting people... Stealing cars...He's 18 now! You can't tell him anything because apparently he knows everything.
Keef didn't start it but he's definitely perpetuating the situation.
theyre already wearing threads and yelling bang bang. you already said your brother was bad to begin with. your brother would be stealing cars right now regardless of chief keef. its not like keef is any good. hes more than likely only popular out there because hes their voice on a higher plateau.

Listening to this is kinda fukking with my head man. I think a lot of these nikkas disagreeing with Lupe have never been in those types of environments before. Last Christmas I went to brooklyn to visit family, and a shoot out happened in broad daylight and my 2 year old nephew almost got shot.

It reminded me why I'm glad I got out the hood, and reminds me to never go back. I don't know what the answer is, but there sure as hell is a fukking problem :wow:

I didn't get that from that from this interview......I feel like Lupe was just commenting on the fact that the Chief Keef life style persona is celebrated.... is the fact that he is scared. The only reason he mentioned Keefs name is cause they asked him.......So he was not getting at the music per-say but the fact that the Chi murder rate is high....And at the same time the media (radio,TV,Internet) celebrates the types of nikkas that contribute to the violence (which Keef reps) ........Well thats just my take on his interview

Okay I understand..

Full disclosure I didn't listen to the full interview before I posted.. I just read the quote out of context and was seeing all these posts about young dudes going to do drive-by shootings blasting Keef, and just assumed thats the point Lupe was making..

I stand corrected.. I shouldn't have directed my statements toward Lupe...

Same as probably everyone else that disagreed with Lupe in this thread.

The whole situation is just sad....... In the internet era age, Keef can leak his music and videos and the kids that were already on this ish in chicago flocked to it, embraced it....... You cant blame the actual rapper (wont call him artist) for this, nor blame record executives...... The blame here goes to the enviorment that was created by greedy, insensitive politicans in the 1970s that set up these scenes and some cities have just never got up the will to do something about it (their city government, not the people).

This aint a music problem, its a government problem to correct Chicago, these KIDS are 11-17, they dont know any better, especially with nobody around to teach them except their own peers.

I will say, it is very scary, and I agree with with Lupe for the most part. Only thing to correct this boards perception of what Lupe was saying, is it is not Chief Keef or GBE's fault, because frankly, how they were raised and in that enviorment, you cant expect most kids to be able to dodge that attitude
