Damn, he'd actually be a pretty solid battle rapper. Good understanding of breath control, cadence, etc. Most of that probably comes from being a guy who's toured globally, stage control and allat. I don't think there's any venue other than straight mud slinging where Royce would have a chance against breh. And even then, Lu would just flip that barbaric approach on bro like he sorta nibbled at doing in SLR 3.5

I would REALLY love to see Black Thought and Lu trade bars. I wish there was a lyricist that cared about the idea of exchanging lines like Royce and him were doing (before it got hostile) and they'd host a Verzuz type format of just nikkas rapping. Don't even gotta be battle rapping necessarily

After listening to this diss for the 10th time.
I think what happened is Royce dissed Lupe, and something that Royce said really pissed Lupe off.
So he immediately did this diss track.
I mean he said his albums are immemerable, that he has zero impact and that he is a muthfukin lame, and all these other things.

I think this was a knee-jerk diss and neither Lupe nor Royce thought Lu would go this hard.

Lupe is generally a nice polite guy, but with a very short temper.

I think that's what happened.

Thinking about it, Royce was going extra hard outside the rapping, and Lu was keeping it light for the most part.

Roles got reversed here. Royce drops a light one and Lupe fired from the Death Star.
