I saw a similar thing in this thread earlier. Please explain what did D12 do for Royce's career? Other than lose a battle vs. Royce. Do some people think Royce was a D12 group member, or do they just not know shyt about basic ass hip hop history from the late 90s /early 2000s?

Royce was on an Eminem album before Shady Records existed or D12 was signed to Shady. Royce also had his own solo deal. How did D12 help him? Boom was released like 2-3 years before they started beefing and that's what introduced Royce to a lot of people.

I get that y'all wanna break down lines but there's a chance Lupe just said dozen without a bigger meaning behind it. And if he meant it, it doesn't make any sense.

He knew he couldn't answer it logically, so he got extremely vague and obtuse with his responses. He said the only thing close to Thought's verse was Kendrick's Control verse, when Kendrick's verse was literally him name dropping for shock value. There was nothing special about that verse from a rapping/rhyming perspective.
