Now on the other hand, he tweeted this:

So all yall talking about he has no connection to Africa whatsoever are also capping and projecting. These threads always reveal those who talk out of their asses or come here with an agenda.
I am not one of the people who said he has no connection to africa( I did say many black americans dont, and that just cause he black doesnt mean he has to)
what I did say is that he was mostly ADOS/ Asian culture exposed.

And these tweets support that, the top two cultures he was exposed to was ADOS and Japanese/Asian culture.

which is nothing new, if your a lupe fan its always been obvious ADOS and japanese culture have been the dominating cultures exposed to him in his life

Just because a person likes a certain culture doesn’t make them apart of it. It’s interesting that he seems to value Japanese culture over AA culture or any other type of diaspora culture. Not someone I would defend for their preference but to each his/her own.

its been posted in this thread numerous times he was raised under Japanese culture. One tweet was posted about how he knew how to count to 10 in Japanese before doing it in English and it doubles down when you factor him practicing japanese martial arts

Plus this was about African not AA culture.
Are some of yall really this upset because he aligns with a nonblack culture? Or is it simple cause LUPE said it?:jbhmm:
nikkas in here talk mighty different in other threads, but are now trying to be on some pan african tip now that Lupe said something.

It most assuredly is not.

Yes it is. West Indians, even if/when their numbers weren't huge; have been in the USA longer than Continental Africans, which in the end made them more prone to appropriating an Afram identity. A while back on this VERY board; I did a census poll, and a shyt load of West Indians were claiming they were Aframs:pachaha:

Has nothing to do with him being Lupe..., but supposedly being raised on Japanese culture yet not raised in Japan. Makes no sense unless one of his parents is Japanese?? If not..so now what do you mean by being raised in Japanese culture? I like certain aspects of other cultures too but they are not what I am.. You can enjoy other cultures without acting like they are of such importance for you to claim some type of identity with them. Him saying he identifies more with Japanese culture is just him saying he knows more and cares more about japan than he does about African cultures. That’s it. Nothing else to say. That’s why what he said is not worthy to defend.
