I disagree but I'll say this Kendrick is better at conveying his stories/messages in a way that appeals to more people and that is a talent in and of it self.

Lets cut the shyt & be honest if you replace k-dot voice with lupe voice & cadence but leave every word every hook every beat the sequencing & album structure on both tpab & gkmc & even section 8 & the untitled he would be considered goat status & mentioned with the nas's jay z's & pac's

Earlier this year he said Joey Badass album was the best rap album from 2015(mind u he dropped T&Y)
Lupe straight up is the most talented pure Lyricist to debut in the mainstream since Nas. I'll say that to my dying breath...
The Cool era Lupe was the perfect MC. He could effortlessly make a hit song that didn't SOUND like forced cookie cutter garbage (Superstar. Paris Tokyo) he had the storytelling joints for days (Put You On Game. Hip Hop Saved My Life) his flow was a thing of beauty, his concepts were genius. I thought he was going to be the leader of the new generation....
And then Atlantic snatched his soul and forced him to record garbage commercial raps because he told them to fukk themselves when they tried to make him sign a 360 deal. Held his album hostage. I think he lost a lot of momentum when they didn't allow him to put out the original 3 disc LUPend album that he was working on.
It just hasn't been the same
Not to mention some of his antics on twitter are beneath him. Lupe doesn't need to troll, but he does and it turns people off. I just wish we could go back to 2007 when it was all so simple

nikkas was just debating on here these past couple of days about Food & Liquor retail versus the leaked version and which one is better....
And I got to thinking.... "does this shyt really matter?
both versions are superior to what nikkas after Lupe have released thus far

There's just as much, if not more top quality material from the Food & Liquor sessions than GKMC and TPAB together. And that's no shade on Kendrick, but Lupe is a different type of talent. He did for the mainstream what Kendrick's doing in 2005-2009, but in much less suitable climate for his style of rap. And the competition was way superior to nikkas now. He got platinum and gold albums and single sales from a lyrically dense, concept/story-telling driven album.
The entire TDE/Black Hippy squad are students, and fans of Lupe Fiasco. Bruh is just being too humble again...
