Macklemore, Q-Tip, and Banner have been active in this case. Macklemore as was state earlier was an teacher/adviser for a juvenile facility so I think he might have a good understanding of how the US really works. Banner and Q-Tip also have been active in the black community for a good minute. Honestly this is just a horrible injustice, the whole no indictment ordeal is incredibly sad. The biggest problem was that people treated this as a trial when it was really just a grand jury proceeding for an indictment.

Don't like his music but he seems like a good dude. Whether you want to chalk it up as strictly a PR move or not the social justice topics seem to have been prevalent in his music before he took off.
