Magic is more qualified from his real world business accument
to athletics than most.

Magic also had to ramp on a number of different industries from film to even baseball and the dodgers.
So, how lebatard arose to this and just harped on magic failures in business post his original real career is one sided and jaded and not indicative of the full scope.

To the point the points of his rant taken for the media never featured that in content.
Which is why I have a hard time with this coming from Dan as he is typically a bit more thorough than this.

Magic Johnson is arguably one of the most successful ex players turned businessmen. Now that could be because he's putting his name cache to these businesses. Could be the same thing with the Lakers. Magic's name carries weight with current players in the league. Magic can get all star level players to LA. He can hire somebody who knows about salary caps and all the other shyt that they think he doesn't know. But them low key calling Magic dumb has some coded language to it.

i was skeptical on the magic hire UNTIL he hired pelinka, but that was based on the old ideology of great players being super hands on and not 1) infusing younger talent for critical positions & 2) micromanaging. i wanted kenny smith or shareef, but i was good w/ someone that had relationships w/ young talent. rob is of that world and obviously he's had close ties to the lakers being kobe's agent, among others. my concerns were as a fan of my team tho, not of someone mad a nigg w/ 25 years of business experience got a job because his "charm...smile...*read." he cuban b'd the shyt outta pepsi, kfc, la fitness, starbucks and them movie theaters.

Magic is a boss not an employee. Meaning that he can see the big picture and what parts fit where, and he knows whaat kinda team he needs around him. You give him a "job" like coach, or host, hes not as good at those.
