This was literally the only SB he played well in and he only had 180 yards against a sus Eagles defense

Lets not act like he was breaking passing records in his 2 SB wins

They had a big day running the football which is what you need to do against Philly and only had the ball for 24 minutes. He didn't have to throw for 350. That's not the gameplan against the pass rush that the Eagles bring. Run the ball and throw it quickly. He had 132 QB rating, was 21-27 on completions, and lead 3 straight TD drives to start the second half. He played great.

He was clutch vs SF and against TB the oline was a disaster.

No. Maybe physical ability but Peyton was a computer. As great as Pat is, he still had Andy Reid as his HC.

Yet that computer was always crashing when it mattered most. Without a clean pocket Peyton isn't Peyton. Mahomes can make plays without ideal circumstances.

Manning is 14-13 in the playoffs with an 87 QB rating. Mahomes is 11-3 with a QB rating of 106 (pre Super Bowl so that # is actually lower than it should be).

How do you take away from Mahomes due to Andy? Last I checked he had zero rings until Patrick arrived. You're reaching.

Spanked? He looked like 2018 or 2014 LeBron to me: Obviously the most talented / best player on the court / field, but the supporting cast wasn't up to par.
He made a lot of spectacular throws in that game, he also had some very bad ones. Even the crazy throw he made while laying flat in the air, as amazing as it is, if you watch closely it slipped throw Devin White’s hands and coulda easily been intercepted, as well as caught by the receiver for the TD

He’s progressed as a QB dramatically even when under duress from the pass rush. Plus Andy Reid’s game plan was outmatched by Bowles scheme, he wasn’t able to adjust to the poor o-line protection with a quick hitting offense like the Chiefs have now

Peyton is tough to pick over but I still take Mahomes.

At the end of the day, I don't think Peyton can win it all with this Chiefs team. I don't think he wins a game like today or the game vs the Bengals (especially how everyone was getting injured).

Kelce for sure would be his weapon of choice, but I don't think he can put up any better numbers than he currently does with Mahomes. This is basically as good as a tight end can ever play.

Mahomes was making crazy plays with his feet today when the coverage was tight, Manning wouldn't be able to do the same.

Manning would absolutely need weapons and a top-tier defense to get it done in 2023.

I think games like the Bengals in the AFCCG would be multiple-interception performances for Manning.

Mahomes is also insane with the audibles.

It's Brady, Peyton, Mahomes :yeshrug:
I don’t see the argument for manning over Mahomes. If you compare their post season stats, accomplishments, etc, nothing separates manning from Mahomes. Brady and Montana are really the only QBs you can put ahead of Mahomes. Their hardware is just the golden standard. I’ll say this, if Mahomes gets 3, it’s gonna get really spooky.

Mahomes post season greatness counterbalances all of that. :manny:

Not to mention he just won the definitive regular season award(MVP) and had one of the all time great post season runs while not playing 100%. I don’t see a universe where Peyton can be loaded up with painkillers and still will his team to a super bowl victory while having a low Time Of Possession. You give a coordinator two weeks to prepare for an injured Peyton, and that defense is packing him up.

Tom Brady in 2021:

5,316 yds, 67.5 cmp%, 45 TDs, 12 INTs, 102.1 passer rating. 15th rushing off. Tied for best record in NFC.

Patrick Mahomes this yr:

5,250 yds, 67.1 cmp%, 45 TDs, 12 INTs, 105.1 passer rating, 8th rushing off. Best record.
About 70 more pass attempts for Brady

Why leave off rushing stats?
