What if Joe Burrow beat him again and then win a title this year

He wasn't reg season MVPNah there’s actually a QB with 2 rings not in the Hall of Fame
Jim Plunkett won two SBs with the Raiders and he’s not in
I read your post wrong my faultHe wasn't reg season MVP
Joe Theismann had some great seasonsJoe Theismann isn’t a Hall of Famer?? Didn’t realize that.
What if Joe Burrow beat him again and then win a title this year

This doesn’t make sense.
Pat will have 2 MVPs a Super Bowl and a Super Bowl MVP and has broken damn near every QB record his first 5 years of starting
Joe hasn’t done any of that. The media paints the QB vs QB narrative which doesn’t make sense if Joe does win he’ll just have a Super Bowl. IF THEY WIN
They’re not playing each other on defense and neither can control that.
and more specifically PAT HAS DONE MORE WITH LESS THIS YEAR!!!!
The accolades are significant legacy points in Mahomes' favor. And if Burrow beats him for the 4th consecutive time, two of those being with a Super Bowl on the line, at Mahomes' place, those are significant legacy points in Burrow's favor...
If KC loses this game Mahomes would fall to 2-3 in the AFC Championship, so yes, he'd still have all that other stuff in his favor, but we'd also be talking about a guy who, in addition to continually losing to Cincy, in addition to the losing AFCCG record, is a guy who made two Super Bowls but didn't play all that great in either one besides the last half of the 4thQ in the one that he won...
He certainly didn't dominate the SB he won, and was downright bad in the one he lost. He played outstanding in the AFCCG loss to New England, but last year was a choke in the second half of that game, he was terrible...
All evaluations like these have nuance and we aren't talking about a guy who has gotten to this level and played with flawless execution. It's been quite the contrary, actually, so the same way its fair to bring up his entire resume, the same resume I think already makes him a GOAT 15 player, and it's fair for people to bring up "he's playing Cincy's defense, Burrow isn't on defense", it's equally fair for people to point out the mistakes and flaws and performances that weren't good...
He's rarely bad, but on the rare occasions he is bad, he gets really, really bad. It's a Manning-esque quality, if you recall Prime Manning, he was rarely bad, but when he was bad he was fukking terrible (and no I don't think Mahomes is as consistently poor in the playoffs as Manning, where it was a near annual occurrence. That ain't what I'm saying befire you run in here with your pitchforks out)...
You guys don't just get to tell one side of the story and omit the parts yall don't like...
And let's keep it all the way, we know how quarterbacks are compared to each other in games, we don't have to play pretend. They've been measuring quarterbacks against each other like this, since before any of us were born. It wasn't necessarily "fair" that Manning got ripped for playing poorly against elite Patriot defenses, and later an elite Hawks defense, while Brady got gassed for not playing as badly versus a Colts D that was nowhere near as challenging as what Manning was facing when he took the field. But he got ripped for it anyway, it is what it is...
When he and Brady met more often than not Brady outplayed Manning, it's a fact. No clue who outplays who on Sunday but Burrow outplayed Mahomes last year. So we'll see if that's a pattern or not, but last year happened. I don't understand this desire to act as if it didn't...
Are Patrick’s and Joes resumes the same?
If Joe wins Sunday and doesn’t win the Super Bowl he’s just going to be the Qb that beat Pat twice in the AFC (in every game Pat had 1 bad half) but never won a MVP or Super Bowl.
You’re talking about nuance but won’t bring up how Pat was the one who willed the chiefs back in the fourth when the sideline was done. Did he get the job done? What will the resumes be?
Do you want to run wasp? Do you?
Peyton wasn’t necessarily good in his Super Bowl wins with the colts or the broncos but he won them and that’s all that matters.
John Elway had a passer rating of 59.3 with 1,128 yards, 3 touchdowns and 8 interceptions in 5 games in Super Bowls in his career. People don’t care cause he won 2 of them!!
If Jim Kelly would’ve won at least 1 of those super bowls he would be looked at differently.
But you want to talk pick and choose nuances
You want to compare the two but don’t mention how PAT has done more with less! You skipped that. But nuance right?
I gave him credit for winning the Super Bowl and all his other accolades, what are you talking about? I said he had that 4thQ of the SB he did win. You want me to have a full on groupie fest?
If Burrow wins but loses the Super Bowl, yes the narrative on him will be that he can't win the big one. Fair or not. The other part of his narrative will be he can outplay Mahomes...
I need him to finish this off
He’s gonna win MVP but he needs to win this game on Sunday and win the Super Bowl and win SB MVP to solidify his greatness
This dude is a magical football player
That's what makes this game so fascinating.
It's actually a benchmark game for Mahomes's career. I think if he wins, they'll win the super bowl, and Mahomes will be back on track to get many rings and try to catch Tom if he can
But if they lose, it'll make people realize they blew their shot at a dynasty. And it will also make people pay attention to Mahomes's flaws and put things in perspective. Because many people act like Pat and the Chiefs are already a Dynasty for some reason, and they constantly say Mahomes is the best QB ever, already. So if they lose, it'll lead to a correction.
@murksiderock as i mentioned in another thread, if Mahomes doesn't win another ring, people will realize that Mahomes actually isn't THAT much better than his peers - he just landed in a better spot, so he got a better headstart. People will also realize that Mahomes isn't the first QB to do the things he's done... Favre, Warner, Stafford, Rodgers, etc. Have all done side-arm throws, no look passes, scrambling, underhand tosses, etc...
I sound like a hater but I'm not. Mahomes is great. But he's riding a stock bubble that needs to pop
Eh, basically, he's the best QB in the league, but people need to pump the breaaks when they say he's already the best QB ever, and try to act like he is so much better than everyone despite just having 1 ring. That's what I'm saying. And that if Burrow gets a chip this year, he's QB1 imoSounds like some hater shyt to me![]()
