Can we knock out this "Beyonce is a songwriter" argument? That broad don't be writing shyt :heh:

Bangladesh on Beyonce
I'll put it like this. It doesn't matter who's writing the songs, or who's producing the songs. It's who's delivering the mother fukker. It really doesn’t matter if Beyoncé is actually sitting there physically writing the song. Even if she's not, it don't mean she can’t. She might not have the time. It doesn't matter, because you can work with artists who write, or work with artists that’s Beyoncé's level. For me it doesn't matter. At the end of the day, she's on a level where things are handed to her; people wanna be a part of what she's doing. She either wrote it, or she can put her name on it - it doesn’t matter because that's the boss you are.

Bangladesh Admits Beyonce Doesn't Write Her Music, Songwriters Desperate For A Chance Do! | Gyant Unplugged

Check them credits...apparently Beyonce wrote Silent Night on the Destiny's Child Christmas album :dead:

Producer Soundz says Beyonce don't write that shyt

Yall nikkas can talk that Beyonce shyt all you want....I know for a 100% fact none of yall nikkas is riding down the highway listening to "Girls Run the World" or "Irreplaceable"

I can bang Aaliyah's shyt just as easily as J Cole or Ross. She gets plenty play on roadtrips :ahh:

Can't stand that stuff.

What the fucc does that matter in this conversation? If you think ones' product is better than anothers', why can't you say that?

Besides, you could say Beyonce is also more of a product than a talent. She's just as packaged as any popular musician at their height has been.

:comeon:

U can't be serious :noah: Bug A boo, bootylicious, are soulful? :birdman:

typical internet tactic: go for the least common denominator and play it off as if it represents the majority.

i read your playbook before you even got your hands on it.

and whats funny is that bootylicious, as cheesy as it was, is more soulful than most of the aalyiah stuff that yall are gassin on here. that song couldve easily been thrown on a LaBelle vinyl as a b-side to "lady marmalade". it wouldve sounded much better but you get the point.

now tell me whats so soulful about songs like "try again", "are you that somebody", etc? i just hear a bunch of glorified humming over timbaland production in alot of her songs.

Homeboy Runny-Ray you my guy dawg. I enjoy reading your posts. You have a grand knowledge on present and past r&b but it boggles me that you are fighting to the ends for Beyonce.

To make this clear,

Beyonce is no longer R&B/Soul. She is full pop. Compare her to Gaga or Madonna, and even against them she can't win.

Beyonce is the most popular current black female entertainer of all time, which is not saying much because there are not a lot of black female entertainers out now compared to previous decades. Their is no competion and no one to compare her too. She can easily take the title and run with it, just like
Jay-Z, Wayne or Ye can say that they are the best rapper of all time.

I honestly do not have any albums of hers, maybe a song or two.

I have an aaliyah album though.

Aaliyah should be compared to brandy and monica.

I would say Aaliyah has an edge between the two because her popularity did not die entering the 2000's like theirs did.

props to you. i appreciate that.

but yo, i could care less about beyonce. i just cant stand revisionist history.

beyonce is not full pop. shes r&b with pop flavor. no different than whitney or mariah. and to be specific, shes this generation's janet jackson.

with that said, aaliyah wasnt even in the same lane as her at all.

as for brandy & monica, their popularity didnt die entering the 2000s. they were just flat-out inactive. if you want to say aaliyah passed them by default, then be my guest, but thats really nothing to brag about. and by the time brandy & monica finally dropped albums in the 2000s, the lane that they competed in during the '90s was closed for them, as they were now adults and none of those 3 singers were even comparable anymore.

also, monica is still popular in 2012. still dropping hits. everytime her album drops, you know shes gonna have 2 or 3 of the most quality r&b hits for that year.

brandy is :ehh:, getting in where she fits in. she has a big hit right now, even tho theres no integrity to that record. aalyiah, on the other hand, lets be real......she would be the one that would indeed be full-blown pop. like rihanna. and she would be such because she would have no other choice.

I would argue that Aaliyah's music has much more soul than Beyonce's. Beyonce is the more soulful singer, but the music doesn't reflect that. Much of Beyonce's music has that "made for Top 40" sound to it vs. Aaliyah's more rhythmic, organic sound.

Like I said on the 1st Page. Beyonce music is judged by her singles.
