Maino could still come to the hood and get love, not sure about Slim Jesus. make him come to Brooklyn talking all that rah rah shyt he'd probably get chewed up.
but I don't think Slim Jesus cares for going to different hoods. And he certainly isn't doing that rah rah shyt now so why would he do it in any other hood.
He already admits his raps are fake and just for entertainment.
IMO SJ is realer than 90% of rappers out there.
Maybe if all these other fake ass rappers did the same thing then going to the hood wouldn't be such a big thing

see now you are chaning the criteria here.
there is no doubt in anyone's minds that Cube and Dre are better musically. But there is DEFINITE doubt in how real their lyrics and lifestyle they were portraying compared to reality.
I don't care for SJ, don't like his music, haven't tried to listen to anything more than that one track and I couldn't care less about this. BUT I will give him credit for being truthful and straight up

Not a fraud in the sense that he is willing to admit the music he makes doesn't reflect himself personally.
Meanwhile idiots like Ross never break kayfabe and Maino here putting out hypocritical PSAs. One could cape that Maino lived it and he's reflecting on his experiences. One could also cape that Slim Jesus is just storytelling and the content fits what is popular at the moment.
The key factor though is SJ has no problems that the music he makes doesn't represent himself. Honesty sorely needed.

Not gonna lie, mainos new mixtapes sounds like he has grown up alot and has toned down that side of himself alot so I wont say he is a hippocrit. He has lived that life.
