So I'm an associate teacher, and I'm considering completing an education degree.

Some of the ladies I work with keep saying don't do it and I need to look into something else.

If I do, it'll be a stem major. If I don't do education, I'll do chemistry, environmental science, biotechnology, or biochem.

What do you STEM brehs recommend?
Biotechnology has a lot of applications in the real world. You would eat good off that.

But personally you're gonna eat good with anything in Engineering.

Natural sciences like biology, chemistry, and physics don't do very far with making money unless you also do graduate school, the only exception is if you've done internships and research back in undergrad.

But if you in school now you have the dopest school ever created...The Internet...especially youtube, where you can type in any STEM concept and will recieve back multiple tutors, teachers, professors, etc that will break down concepts in multiple teaching styles that best fits you. :blessed:

Yall are blessed, you can literally "pick your teacher" that best fits how you learn. No excuses....Get that STEM poppin.. .

Truth!

I didn't have any of that shyt when I was in college.

Now, you can use Youtube, Udemy, MOOCs, etc. to fill any gaps if you have bad professors.

With social media, you can find alumni who've taken the same professors and learn tips and tricks, get copies of old course material, etc.

There's even shyt like Grammerly to help with writing.

No excuse to have a hard time in college nowadays.

This is part of it...application.

Still need to just understand every concept is just a basic format and building block to larger concepts.

I'm not a STEM major, but it seems the quantitative stuff I took, if you are rushed to learn it, then sometimes it can be overwhelming.....so what I realized is if you not one of those people that can just absorb and remember concepts immediately and for days later without much studying....then you gone have to spend time with the concepts aka actually studying with few to no distractions.

Truth is, everyone has to work hard to remember and understand the things they study. :manny:

I don't believe that certain people are more gifted than others, some were just taught to work harder at an earlier age. Maybe they were naturally more curious, but anyone can foster and grow curiosity with belief in themselves and the right mindset.

Anyway, point is, everyone has to work hard to commit these things to memory, and make a habit of recalling the concepts from memory when you need them (like at test time).

As a stem major the thing I learned was NEVER fall behind. Especially with shyt like chemistry or bio.

I remember a bio class I took that felt like an episode of survivor. Class started with like 70 kids and finished off with like 25. I ain’t never studied so hard for a class. I was recording lectures, taking notes from the book, making notes combining the lecture and the book. I’m glad I took that class because it set the tone for me and made me a more focused student.

Ironically the major classes were easy for me, it was alot of the unrelated courses they make you take your freshmen and sophmore yrs that annoyed me. They werent hard I just didnt see the value in some of them.
Yep. Those were the ones I blew off and just coasted through because I thought they were full of shyt. Yeah I learned some interesting shyt from some of them, but they were a total waste of time.

Never miss a class, a reading assignment and be ready to ask questions. That’s all I remember. As soon as you fall behind it’s over. :whew:

This is why I'm going to form good working/studying habits before I get back to school. By that point, shyt will be second nature and I'll never be behind on my work. :obama:
