1.) We're not interested in taking back a shytty contract (Boozer)
2.) in this current CBA, cap space AND staying under the luxury tax are two big assets as well. Especially luxury tax and how the repeat offender status affects you the following season

Knicks are currently 1.6 mil over the cap without Melo. Keeping Melo puts us over the luxury tax threshold. Assuming Melo walks, we could probably shell 4-5 mil thought the season and get under the cap overall. Not having any luxury tax BS gives us more leeway to fukk around in 2015 and 2016. Especially with STAT and Bargs gone too.

I'm assuming Gibson and McDermott are off the the table.

I already said I'd be cool with Dunleavy + 1st + Butler/Mirotic but no to Boozer. Y'all and Melo want each other that bad? Either find a 3rd party to take on Boozer or amnesty em.
