The Truth
Breh this sounds a lot more serious than "I don't like working from an office"

What are you doing to find a new job with a different company?

And I assume you're considering moving from the city you're in.. right?
I feel you Breh, but don’t stay stuck in it.
Find / plan your exit. Even if it starts with a trip every month or quarter. Get around environments that serve you and lock in on your next move.
That’s just the tip of the iceberg but I will begin looking again once I settle my taxes.

Either that or just start leaving the crib by 4am like half of the office it seems.

There has to be some hidden tax credit in NY, but Corps are really pushing to 4 days in.
Feels like by 2028, a lot of places are gonna push back to five days in.

Your dreams
I opened a company and have finally set it up to the point now where I can work remotely.

But also as the owner I feel I have to be there a lot so the standard I set doesn't slip.

Also kids are in school and husband at work, its just me and the pets.

Cleaning person so I don't have to clean.

Its just boring at home. Also the hustle bug seems to have bit me and really sunk its teeth in. I feel like there is stuff and opportunities I'm missing out on just at home watching Netflix or playing games online.

So even if I don't go to work I go around and just have an eye out and am more hands on with other stuff.

I'm 6.5 years in on this remote thing so there's no turning back for me. Where I work if you were granted permanent virtual status at the height of covid you were grandfathered into that even with the RTO mandate (they do 2x a week). I'm overseas, built up savings, if it ever came down to it I could cover expenses for at least a year and some change until I find something else remote.

Best part about WFH is when work is slow.

We tend to be most busy from July to rigjt before Thanksgiving. It's moderate in December. Jan to June is mostly project work but it's quiet.

First half of the year, I can get work done by lunch and then mostly just clean up the house and hop on the PS5. Got my headset ready for random calls and meetings.

What it means.....you burn less energy commuting. End up using a lot less PTO so later in the year when things slow back down around the holidays....it's easier to take a shyt load of time off. Nice vacations and shyt. It's almost pointless to use PTO early because most days feel like a half-day of work anyway.

:salute:

I'm in the same boat except since covid, our team got bigger, and we have people across half the united states to the point where working in person isn't even feasible. even my boss is in atlanta now, so it's a wrap.

Lol it's awesome. Get all my stuff done early and out the way so I can play and/or run errands the rest of the day if I need to
