What do you mean by this? Aren't there careers that make over $100k? Plenty of people in my field make over $100k easy. Considering a majority of the country gets by on $80k, $100k is more than enough to live comfortably in a majority of cities. Then you can invest into other ventures if you want.
100k after taxes is line 60k.

that's $5k a month net. you can get by if you single in a low cost of living area with that. throw a kid in the mix and the numbers don't add up

Controller, accounting.

I should go for the following reasons.

1. My staff is currently on a staggered one day a week in the office schedule now. Since I am not out on the regular floor with them due to having any office, there isn't anything stopping me from coming daily. I need to build relationships and rapport with them initially in person, then transition that to being done electronically.

2. My predecessor is still here for this week so I need to get all that I need from her before she leaves.

3. To be the position I want to eventually obtain, not the one I have. I want to be CFO one day and I have a great shot of succeeding the current one as the person who is the #2 in the finance department. If she is there every day or most of the time, I will possibly be as well. While this job has many internal and external customers, the next career path for me has an audience of one that will ultimately control it, that being my supervisor.

Why her? Because I've hit the ultimate lick. My undergraduate degree is accounting and my MBA is healthcare management. I'm now the controller for a financially sufficient health care company that is close to home. I don't want to go anywhere else so it's time to soak up game and grind to earn that potential spot.

So, to answer the question, it would not be mandatory but it is contingent on what my supervisor does because I will largely mimic it.

Update, coming up on 5 years there. I'm there in the office virtually every day. I chose to be because as I said in 2021, I'll follow my supervisor's schedule and she's in the office 5 days a week. My staff is on a hybrid schedule. Damn near time for me to get that CFO spot too as she is tentatively retiring next year. If not, they already know what it is, I'm gone. CPA/MBA combination won't have me hurting for opportunity, even in these job conditions.

Love seeing my brethren break the game down and put themselves in position to win :myman:

No its $6k/month net.

The median household income is $80k. I know plenty of families who get by with less than that.

Still working from home since March 2020. There is a new position with a nice title that requires being in the office every day, but the pay difference is only $5k-$7k per year at most. I don't think it is worth it when you factor in gas, longer work hours, downtown parking, and time.:unimpressed:

Hell nah. This is not the time to be leaving a job lol. I'm just thankful to be employed with this fukkery Trump is pulling.

Mf said switch companies like jobs just sitting around to be had

I get where you guys are coming from but it's that much of a dealbreaker for me:yeshrug:I ain't say quit on the spot because of it if you don't have another gig lol.

If you got the skills there is jobs out there
I just turned down a higher paying job over that shyt, not worth it for me.

Yeah I may look into it. I still like this company and my overall schedule. My main issue is the time I will be losing.
