Well people are out here blowing up the spot. That doesn’t help. Just do whatever you do while working from home and go on with life.

have you seen the wfh threads, folks bragging about the work they don't do on the clock? and you still think they want to monitor folks for no reason HA!
This is true with people telling on themselves. But wait till they find out that people weren’t working in the office either.

People come to work eight hours to spend six on social media.

Many skilled people can self-monitor themselves and track their times and progress at the end of the day.

The best managers are there mainly to make sure skilled people got everything they need to get work done.

When skilled people got what they need, managers look good because the skilled people will get it done.

All that extra micromanaging does nothing except make your skilled people leave.

The absolute best managers do the above and want to additionally work remote as well. They're hands off and stay out of the way.

Sidebar was a on a zoom call with co worker, and I couldn’t help but realize the lack of direction this guy has. Led me to be the manager is spoon feeding a lot of the other analyst on our team a good part of the day, because they need step by step instructions.

The best managers are there mainly to make sure skilled people got everything they need to get what they need to do finished.

When skilled people got what they need, managers look good because the skilled people will get it done.

Right. That’s why I always say productivity is a better gauge than watching people’s time. It tells you everything you need to know.

As a manager myself, just get the job done. Your results bring the company money, so I don't care what you're doing as long as the goals get hit and you're reasonably available when I need something.

I personally don't mind going into the office and prefer it, but I understand other people have commitments, commutes, and general life that WFH is a better deal. I have a 20 minute commute, free parking in downtown Chicago, and I'm generally lazy as shyt when I'm in the crib so working in the office is better for me.

I do get the owner perspective though...you lose comraderie and potentially loyalty to the company WFH. However, the money you save in physical office space, throw team-building events once/twice a month company paid to build that comraderie.

Yep. I have one coworker just like that. Manager thinks he doing his job but he asks for help for everything..everything.

Depending on the job, managers can monitor your work while you on your laptop at home. If you suppose to be logged in certain systems they can work with IT on pulling how often you are in the systems, what you're actually doing and when.

Someone recently got busted at my job for not doing shyt at home so they made her ass come in and work.
