If you're waiting for the government to step in I got some bad news for you....at what point do governments step in? housing is a necessity.

Yep exactly. There's literally people everywhere in New York...but Airbnb really fukked the rental game up.It’s a combination of both. I think sometimes we over look the fact that some of these cities are legitimately overcrowded
I thought AirBNB's we're heavily regulated in places like Florida yet rents are still out of control everywhere. It's still mostly a supply issue coupled with inflation most likely.AirBnB and companies like it are overinflating the rental market as well as decreasing supply.
There hasn't been a sudden increase in population that justifies what's going on.
AirBnB should be banned. Or heavily regulated, just like liquor licenses.
Technology and the Tech industry kill previously goods/services, but there has to be a line drawn. Ridesharing crippled the taxi industry, but when you're dealing with shelter and the possibility of being homeless or living uncomfortably, that's where the line needs to be drawn.
Too many people want to live in certain states and it’s creating a supply and demand issue
Both of what y’all saying is true.this aint true. they are just being greedy....
Keep renting, brehs![]()

What a retarded post.
Expect people unable to afford Manhattan rent to buy Manhattan real estate, brehs
i can't live in a place where there is no black community or businesses to serve my particular needs (foods i want, hair stylists, doctors/dentists who are black or deal with black patients compassionately - i've had some very poor experiences with doctors in the past so this is big for me). Both of what y’all saying is true.
And we as black people need to expand and start looking at places like Wyoming, Idaho, Nebraska, and Montana
You can find a lot it places there for great prices
I’m planning on going to Cody, Wyoming next year
people who make $160k+ which is a lot of Manhattan residents, and most people in Manhattan don't live alone, even in 1bd'sRealistically who can afford damn near 4k a month rent

I think it’s that point woulda been before what skid row is in LA.at what point do governments step in? housing is a necessity.
40x rule should be illegal
America doesn't care about its citizens
So yes, rules need to be put in placeMake the rule illegal and that’s fine but you gonna spend $50 to apply for an apartment and they will still select the person with higher income.
I just went through this, my saving grace is an 800 credit score big savings and that I bribed a black woman agent who also wanted me to have the apt but she let me know there were 5 applicants on this place most of which had higher income.
You can’t tell landlords who to select and every apt has multiple offers so you know how this will go. shyt, even I had to have bribe money on deck
