Those are stupid hard tracks, yet he played a bunch of R&B and soft rap tracks that had some of the biggest artists on it. Again, people who think Storch won that battle did so based on the artist on the song, not the actual BEATS. Dude played Candy Shop and Just A Lil Bit, two hugely popular yet unbelievably wack songs, and people in the comments were “:blessed::blessed::blessed::blessed::laff::laff::laff:

Just a Lil Bit is wack? That beat is hypnotic.

I mean them tracks wouldn't do it for me either though:yeshrug: . Its just a difference of taste. I did like the Jay and Kiss tracks.

Completely disagree. This aint a wikipedia battle. You play the songs and get a reaction. Hearing the block is hot or 400 degreez sent me to places that none of Storch's tracks could. I felt like Storch's biggest tracks were basically vibe killers. But apparently nikkas was in the mood for beyonce and timberlake. I just have to agree to disagree.
BREH you arguing something so subjective to YOUR TASTE. Those songs set the moods for other people. It's like being a dj and failing to realize you gotta play for EVERYONE not just yourself. Someone on the other side of it is saying Mannie killed the vibe :yeshrug:

Yeah it's a regional thing

Most east coast dudes were not listening to that shyt

Be like playing some rakim shyt for a 20 year old

you've never been to the east coast.

mannie fresh got more classics on the east coast than scott storch. it really aint even close.
hell, no limit/cash money are the reason southern rap even became a thing, and mannie was the MVP of cash money.
storch has maybe 5-10 strong joints, and im being generous. after that, hes known for 2000s radio trash.

just because you got dudes on social media/message boards, residing in certain cities or regions, it doesn't mean that theyre a good representation of whats really going on where theyre from.

I mean come on, the dude saying "gimme beyonce" should've been a huge red flag.
you can see what type of crowd that was.

Nah I understand that clearly. I've said a few times that its a regional disconnect.

I was gonna say bruh at least we blessed to be able to argue about worth while instead of a fukkin virus

No disrespect but i dont care about none of this dawg. Who had the the biggest number one hits? This aint a beat battle or a party. like i said be mad at swizz and timbo for the matchup. Pharrell would have cleaned Mannie up too but would the same complaints be made?? right
Ehh ok. Most "hits" are trash but again to each his own. And Manny and Pharell would be even more awkward. At least Storch has some street shyt that I could rock with. I can't think of 3 songs of Pharell that I would like against Mannie's shyt. Two completely different vibes.

Looking back on some of those beats neither Storch or Mannie are elite.

Apart from the odd one like Still Dre I was more impressed with Storch Rnb efforts, and he really is just a keys man.

A lot of his production in retrospect sounds dated, and not in a good way either, while I can play for example ‘What We Do’ or I really mean it’ by Just Blaze and while it reflects of a sound of yesteryear it doesn’t sound corny or archaic like Just a little bit for example.

Saying that looking back on it, although a better hip hop producer, a lot of Mannies beats sounds similar and archaic as well and it really drummed home to me that this guy was the southern version of Swizz, they both have hits, both were the main producers for million pound make it huge hip hop movements, but both aren’t quite the elite like A Kanye or a Just Blaze etc.

Swizz and Mannie would have been a good pairing, because in terms of hits Scott Storch blows Mannie out the water.

nah

but he did kill his lane

im not gonna say mannie changed the sound of hip-hop.
but his beats played a VITAL role in changing the landscape of the hip-hop game & culture.

scott storch is just a radio producer in comparison.:yeshrug:

you up here posting smilies, but are you even from the east coast tho?
Im from the east and I was actually outside.

just because storch produced for popular east coast rappers, it doesn't automatically make him a factor.
youre just giving him brownie points based on placements.

he produced the wack songs for 50 cent that began the falloff of g-unit.
im from philly. the roots weren't in favor like that anymore by the time scott storch started working with them. they were just "we're proud of them" status by that point.
what jadakiss songs did storch produce that were poppin like that??

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
I've never mentioned that song i never thought mannie produced that. Lets keep it 100 you think of cry me a river as a Scott storch beat.
I didn’t know Scott Storch had ANYTHING to do with it for years. It was marketed as Timbaland. That’s the key in all of this. Marketing and politics. But once I found out. I look at it as a collab.
