I don't look at Neptunes & timbo as goat-level producers either. and scott storch is a lightweight version of them.
neptunes & timbo are amongst the pinnacle of mainstream super-producers, but theyre nowhere near my all-time top 10 hip-hop producers. hell, theyre more known for their r&b and pop stuff, and they got in the game via r&b production.

but the lines are so blurred now, its sickening.

mannie in my top 5-10 rap producers tho.

dr dre is up there, but with an asterisk next to his name.

Your opinion is your own and you're free to have it. But it's not in tune with reality. There is definitely some industry consensus on these things and statistical measurements that back those up. It is what it is.

So u cornballs don’t fukk wit RnB? nikka I got a wife and kids. Grow the fukk up.

youre not getting clowned for listening to r&b.

youre getting clowned for name-dropping that song.

Don’t shyt on Neptune’s they got just as much hip hop bangers as RnB. I know it’s the cool thing to do but there’s nothing wrong with versatility. Them nikkas got hip hop CLASSICS under they belt. And they got in the game as Hip Hop producers. Not RnB. Their first placement was Rumpshaker.

nothing wrong with versatility AT ALL.
just saying, people need to stop blurring the lines.
then they wonder why hip-hop was so easily infiltrated, and how we got to where we're at today.

yea but rumpshaker was a teddy riley affair, and all they did was play the horns and write teddy's verse.
and what was their second, third, fourth, fifth, etc placement?
their breakthrough was an SWV slow-jam.

if it wasn't for the clipse albums, they would be in the same exact boat as timbaland.

I love Mannie fresh but yall in here being ridiculous.

nikkas is really criticizing Scott Storch for having chart topping R&B hits
:gucci:

:whew:

Not me... that song is legendary

I think the real issue here is there’s no indefinite rule to how we’re picking which song wins... clearly the industry voting chart was biased, but among us fans, how we doin it?

If we basing it off which song went higher on the Billboard then Storch got a clean sweep.. if we judgin off which song better then that’s a whole different story

my argument is Get Your Roll On vs Naughty Girl... club banger vs pop record.... are we sayin Naughty Girl is a draw with Get Your Roll because we ain’t lettin no Beyonce record take an L or are those 2 really neck and neck? What we doin?

Naughty Girl def don’t have the same impact as Let Me Love You in the R&B vs hip hop battle

TBF me myself and I is a record that no straight man should ever play without a woman’s request. I don’t give a damn how bad that bytch did you, a nikka should never be in a my myself and I mood.
I name dropped the song cause it’s a fukkin dope RnB record that a lot of people fukked with. I fukked a few bytches to that record. Y’all nikkas just be overcompensating. It’s not that serious.

nikka, we don’t have to like Storch and you don’t have to like Mannie.

All this other shyt you saying just makes you sound dumb as fukk. Like you seriously just compared fresh to Shawty Redd lmfao. Cut it out my nikka

U dont got to like him but you are being dishonest. You gonna act like the streets aint messin with Roddy Rich?

And your right. Shawty Redd might beat him too. Shawty Redd got undeniable classics with Jeezy, gucci, snoop, TI and more. Mannie ran outta tracks to play and they were only going to 20. I like mannie but only a handful of those cash money tracks are unbeatable classics.

This is also not true. Cause while they did SWV. Next year over they did “Lookin At Me” for Mase. Then after that Superthug for NORE. Then after that the whole fukkin ODB album. Mystikal “Shake Ya Ass” and “Danger”. And a lot more where that came from. And this is all BEFORE Clipse.

im very much in tune with reality.

the communication gap here is because youre not in tune with hip-hop. or maybe youre just a youngn.

I mean look at the bolded. it makes me sick to my stomach.
industry consensus??? when did we get to this point??? this is what I was trying to get thru to you in the last post.
hip-hop is supposed to be ANTI-industry. now look what its been relegated to and how they got you arguing and classifying things.

Of course I fukk with R&B from old to new but I'm referring to that one singular song.

So once again , what grown ass man during that time (00's) or now (20's) is bumping that song.

Find me a person from the 70s and 80s that's still bumping Diana Ross Love ballads

Imo Diana Ross =/= Beyonce.

theres a 4-year gap between rumpshaker and the SWV joint.
where were all their hip-hop credits within that time-span.

all that other stuff is super-commercial & poppy aside from "superthug" which was pretty dam commercial too.

those clipse albums solidified them as more than just commercial guys getting over. that's all im saying.

I don't understand the judging and how you win. What is it based off of? The stature of the artisit? How hard the beat it? Or chart placement? Serious Question....regional shyt aside. This is the first of these battles I actually watched some of.

Bottom line. U make songs when u make em. There’s always a “before”. But end of the day. Them nikkas got shyt for every scenario. And u can DEF say the same shyt about Timbo for damn near the first half of his career. Either way. Them nikkas is the true definition of Super Producers. They got damn near every genre on lock. And there’s absolutely nothing wrong wit that. They can play a whole set list of straight up hip hop bangers. No RnB or pop shyt.
