I don't look at Neptunes & timbo as goat-level producers either. and scott storch is a lightweight version of them.
neptunes & timbo are amongst the pinnacle of mainstream super-producers, but theyre nowhere near my all-time top 10 hip-hop producers. hell, theyre more known for their r&b and pop stuff, and they got in the game via r&b production.
but the lines are so blurred now, its sickening.
mannie in my top 5-10 rap producers tho.
dr dre is up there, but with an asterisk next to his name.
go back & re-read my posts.
I was just saying that you called out the wrong guy.
basically what youre accusing me of doing.
but I wasn't necessarily arguing with you tho. just that one post.
You got Mannie on a 5-10 Top Hip Hop producers, but exclude Timbaland and The Neptunes and have Dre with an asterisk next to his name, yet you want people to take your posts seriously?
Timbaland, and by extension, The Neptunes made what Mannie was doing acceptable. They literally changed Hip Hop production to the point where all these unorthodox styles and patterns were common place in Hip Hop production. Before them Hip Hop production was dominated by '80's Pop and R&B loops courtesy of the Trackmasters and Puffy & The Hitmen.
