Kanye is worth $100M. I know people who were working 9 to 5s who opened up their own successful high end clothing lines. The only reason Kanye "needs" to go through these fashion houses is because he wants that validation

He's right about Ye being a contradiction, Kanye talks about wanting to bring high fashion to the people...but then he makes a plain white T and charges $120, makes Nike's and makes them super limited and $240, and makes a line of LV sneakers and charges a minimum of $870. 1. I'm not defending Kanye, I'm saying where Kanye is coming from. Whether I agree or not, was obviously up to you to assume.
2. Are you telling me Kanye isn't successful? His over-the-top womens line got average to bad reviews but everyone has got average reviews and it was his first time, his second got average to good reviews. His sneaker collections got excellent reviews and his other lines sold out quick and got good reviews.
3. I don't think his shyt sells out in minutes cause he's a celebrity, I don't see Trukfit or Drakes Canada Goose jacket flying of the shelf. I think he took advantage of being a celebrity in regards to being able to finance his own shyt, befriending the correct people, set up his friends so they as well have a large group of hipsters following them, their stores etc..

they're there to show off the clothes, make them look good and help sell them, not make them and that was the basis for his "we're the rockstars" rant.
if you are thee tastemakers, wouldn't it be better for Kanye to co-sign dudes like Public School NYC (were the dudes behind it are black/asian just to point that out) which is a good brand thats starting to bubble all on its own merit and help these sort of guys rather than beg for the co-signs of others to help you get in ?

i know you did and like i said in that thread, the roc guys took that 6% because OTHER people are handling their brand now, they got offered millions for roc a wear, they saw that contract but they also saw those $$$$ and said fukk it.
now cam'ron can run his own brand 100% dipset owned but he doesn't know the clothing business like that thats why he wont/cant do it cause he thinks he's losing money but he is not, if you handle your brand all by yourself you will find piles of paper on your brain, shyt will be to much, unless you like that sort of work, so when that person said hey look at this contract for a dipset brand cam most likely thought he would get everything by just co signing a few things other people are busting their ass off.
The black man can own shyt if they do their own research and think for a little bit, dont just rush in brehs, been there done that.
